Summary
Ramage hopes to enjoy a well-deserved leave when he receives new orders: Ccmmission and take command of the Dido--a massive, 74-gun ship that carries enough weight of metal to destroy a frigate in a single broadside or sweep a ship's decks clear of men. Accompanied by the courageous crew of the Calypso, Ramage ventures to sea once again, bound for the West Indies, where he faces the challenge of commanding this massive weapon of war.

Saddly the Last
An excellent series this is my second reading, the first and part of this using the old fashioned paperbacks. will no doubt read the whole series again only next time it will be all audible. The only jibe I have is that book 16 is still missing. A great read for everyone if only a little interested in the sea

Great writing, amazing Characters, so sad to see the end! If only someone else could pick up where Pope left off..?

And they all lived happily ever after…
Great books by Dudley Pope. I have listened to every book, good storylines and great characters whom I shall miss. I have also learned much about the ships, war at sea and the Royal Navy in that time period. I look forward to visiting Portsmouth to see the Victory.
Steven Crossley is one of favourite narrators of historical fiction and the reason why I selected these books. And he expertly reads all 18 of them! His depiction of each character is brilliant and you know who they are without being told.
Quite sad to have finished them but I’ll be listening to them again.
