About this listen

Once the fame of love is lit, it cannot be extinguished.

When Genevieve agrees to deliver a package to Quill Gentry, her reception is a shotgun fired at her. She tries again by sending a note mentioning the sender’s name and is gruffly welcomed.

Quill reluctantly takes the offered package. He notices the beautiful messenger has a limp and he can’t hide his sympathy and softens toward her.

A brief relationship begins with Genevieve which gradually draws him from his shell. He even develops a friendship with the town’s preacher.

When Genevieve leaves town suddenly without saying goodbye, Quill is heartbroken. The preacher sends him a mail-order bride to make up for his loss. The very day the gorgeous Lillian arrives, he gets word from Genevieve about her imminent return and her reason for leaving so quickly. Thus, Quill’s quandary.

Quill

I enjoyed the narration of Jamison Walker, who brings out the angst and romance.

Quill is living a life as a recluse. Avoiding going into town for supplies. Abe his friend does any of Quill's his business in town for him. Genevieve is asked to to deliver a package to Quill, agreeing but Quill sends her away , with a shotgun. Even though he refuses to see her she is persistent and slowly we see Quill change. This is a wonderful sweet, clean romance.

Christian Historical Romance

While I loved the whole story, the premise was a bit far fetched.
I loved the Aunt and wish she'd have been in the epilogue, as well as Genevieve's siblings. I loved the kind Sheriff and his wonderful wife. I wasn't as fond of the preacher.
Quill was wonderful and his transformation in both looks and heart were astounding! But that's what love will do! Love from our Heavenly Father and love between a man and woman!
The narrator could use more variety in his characters, especially accents. But, his rhythm and timing were great! The conversation sounded almost normal speed which is perfect because you don't want key words missed. Too many narrators read either too fast or too slow!
