Summary

I knew running from Adrian wouldn't be easy. That there was a risk I would be caught, but I never anticipated he would go to such great lengths to find me. Now that he knows what I've done, I wonder if there will ever be love between us again, or if we were always meant to be enemies?

This is book two in a duet and cannot be listened to as a stand-alone. Book one, Vow to Protect, must be heard before this one.

Interesting story but the female narrator was awful

I found this book and the last so hard to listen to. The female narrator was dreadful she sounded strange like an old lady but also so robotic. Such a shame as the male narrator was fantastic and the story was fantastic. This is probably the only thing I don’t enjoy about audible books when a good story is ruined by a bad performance.

Good book and narration

other than I sped up the narration a very small amount, I think the narration is good. both narrator's changed pitch and tone for the various characters and both performances were expressive. fuss about nothing.
although this is a duet, I was very pleased to see there are other books in the series which follow the other characters in the book an I'm looking forward to the next book.

Interesting storyline

All cool. The only bit irritating is the female narrator’s tone - upping it at the end of every sentence making it whining…

Enjoyed story

Enjoyed the story and I loved it overall but the female lead Valentina’s voice was so annoying it spoils the whole effect of the story as her voice do winey and babyish

Steamy

The ups and downs of this relationship is great to read. And then add in his team.

Decent story despite the female narrator

The story was entertaining, the male narrator made the male lead acceptable despite being a bit ‘alpha’, but the female narrator made the main female character really unlikeable. Valentina came across as simpering and a bit weak, whereas she could have come across as ‘damaged’ but strong. Shame.

Rubbish ending to this duet

The first book was quite good, apart from the whiny voice of the female narrator. This book though was so slow, I kept skipping chunks and then it abruptly ended. As the next book is described as a standalone, I will most definitely not be reading the other books in this series.
