About this listen
The last 16 decades are rife with incidents like the "Montreal Screwjob", but in this new audiobook, it's time for some unsung heroes of professional wrestling's past to finally get their due.
When did tag team wrestling migrate from Australia to the United States? How did a mid-ring heart attack reshape lucha libre? What was the first intergender wrestling match? There’s an unlimited amount of angles from which to view the fits and starts of professional wrestling’s serpentine growth. This audiobook picks just six, and weaves together a fascinating tapestry of wrestling's history and innovations.

This Is A Must Read/Listen For Any Wrestling Fan!
This is a must-read/listen for any die-hard wrestling fan!
An excellent entry point for anyone and everyone interested in the history of Pro Wrestling.
Mike Quakenbush finds 6 threads to explore in the world of wrestling which he unravels in his usual exploratory way at a great pace for the reader/listener.
I have been a wrestling fan for 25 years, I consider myself ‘very knowledgeable’ about all things wrestling (not just WWF/WWE)
I thought going into this book “there won’t be much in this that I won’t already know…” WRONG!
I learned loads throughout this book, answering questions I never knew I wanted to know.
The way in which Mike tells his stories, you can tell that plenty of time, thought & effort has gone into this labor of love & that he cares very passionately about the history of Pro-Wrestling.
If I had to be hypercritical, I’d love this book to be longer, with ‘more threads’, however that’s more to do with the fact that the 6 threads Mike talks about are fascinating and I just couldn’t get enough.
Highly recommended, A must-read, and if you can get the audiobook Mike’s audio just adds that ‘little extra’ to the book.
