About this listen

Anna Kennedy loves her career. A young associate with a top media law firm, she’s the lawyer to the stars, hiding their sins from the hungry media. When Anna fails to prevent a damaging story being printed about heart-throb movie star Sam Charles, she finds herself fighting to save not only his reputation, but also her own.

But Anna is about to uncover a scandal more explosive than even Sam’s infidelities. A party girl is already dead and those responsible are prepared to silence anyone who stands in their way. Not least a pretty young lawyer who knows too much…

Entertaining.

Very enjoyable. I realised half way through that I read the book a few years ago but still enjoyed listening and rediscovering it.

Never a dull moment with this one!

What did you like most about Private Lives?

I liked the many colourful characters in this book and the wonderful places the author took us to visit.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Anna was my favourite character. She appeared to be meek but in the end, she was the mouse that roared.

Which character – as performed by Jane Collingwood – was your favourite?

It would have to be Sam.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes but the length made that unrealistic so I would say it was very nice to know I was coming back to it when ever I was free.

Any additional comments?

I only just discovered Tasmina Pary and I like her style of writing. The books are the right length for a holiday read but also great for escape when you're not on holiday.

Great, indulgent yarn!

Really enjoyed this. A sort of portmanteau style, various stories that gently start to interweave until they are all in one big story. Lots of drama abs glamour. Kept me entertained on long walks.

Do be prepared for cliche city - the characters are cliches of their type, the dialogue is an endless stream of cliched sound bites and there are no moulds broken! But hey, it kind of makes it the guilty suitcase novel it is.
