About this listen

Pride and Prejudice has long been Britain's favorite novel, and though first published over 200 years ago, has stood the test of time. Its bright sparkling dialogue and sharply drawn characters continue to delight reader young and old. The romance between Elizabeth and Darcy has been imitated countless times in other novels but has never been equalled.

Read by Claire King, a well known and loved British TV actress. She has starred in Bad Girls, Emmerdale, Hollyoaks, and Coronation St, among many other roles. She brings her great style and vivacity to this classic audiobook.

A Must listen audioBook For Anyone!

The characters are complex, multifaceted, and well developed. Her proper English style is something that you cannot find in today's conventional novels, and it is a lovely refresher.

Truly a Classic

Pride and Prejudice has been a story I'm aware of for years, my mother loves it and she often watched the TV show, I hadn't enjoyed it as much but I went into this book with an open mind and it truly is much better than the show made it seem. I did thoroughly enjoy listening to such a classic story and Claire did wonderfully in her narration.

Hate to love relationship?

The story is amazing and one of my favorites. I don’t think I need to say much about the story since almost everybody is acquainted with it. The cover looks cute. But it is definitely a must-listen for all you romantic people who love a story that evolves from disdain to love.

A romance that sugarcoats nothing

"It is a trope universally acknowledged that a romantic hero and heroine who loathe each other will eventually fall passionately in love."

Very refreshing!

This audiobook was a real pleasure to listening! I had downloaded it a while back just out of curiosity but never got around to listening to it. I picked it up again after deleting the current audiobook I was listening because I felt that the author really had his own agenda rather than my entertainment.

Love The Note

Not everyone will be charmed by this, but it brought the much-loved and oft-listen audio book to life for me in a new way.

Excellent Audio Narration One of English Fiction's

Marvellous love story set in late Georgian England. A classic.
The story is easy to listen to narrated by Rosalind Pike. Well worth listening to even if you've seen the mini series. The original novel has much more detail and Elizabeth's thinking and feelings. I use it as bedtime sleep reading because if I fall asleep I know the story so well it doesn't matter if I miss some.

Great story but I wish I'd chosen different reader

I loved the book but claire king's storytelling technique is not nearly as good as juliet stevenson.
