About this listen

Perfect for mature teens and nostalgic adults, this LGBTQ+ series celebrates authentic intimacy, realistic relationships, and the beautiful chaos of growing up queer. Rewind to the nineties and join a group of teenagers as they try to figure out who they are, and who they want to love. Meet your new friends:

Anthony Cullen: My life would be a lot easier if I wasn’t in the closet. And in love with my straight best friend. Do you think he’ll ever notice me?

Omar Jafari: I’m flunking out of most of my classes, but hey, a pretty girl talked to me today. So maybe I should stop secretly hooking up with a dude.

Silvia Diaz: Listen, my parents are undocumented, so I don’t have time to worry about boys. Or girls. Or which I like more.

Cameron Huxley: I’m ready to meet my soul mate. Whoever he is. When we find each other, we’re going to come out and show the world what true love looks like!

Mindy Beaumont: I feel like I’m invisible. I’ve never even kissed a boy. Ugh! Oh well. Back to my romance novels.

Ricky Nishikawa: I’m starting freshman year in a new town. If that wasn’t bad enough, I keep getting picked on by a bully. And he’s really really hot.

Pride High: Book 1 immerses you in a world where every secret holds explosive potential and each friendship has the chance to blossom into something extraordinary. High school has never been so gay before!

One of the best... Surprised it's not better known

This was probably one of the best YA LGBT novels I've read, ever. So many seem to have flaws, such as unlikeable characters, or the same tired, rehashed plots, or they're written like they're being written for 8 year olds. This story did none of that and I also liked how all the characters had their own stories to tell. Rather than just following the main character, or the main two.
The performance was good, but not great. Occasionally, you could hear the reader swallow or breathe in, etc. But over all, he did pretty good.

Great character development

I love Jay Bell, wasn’t sure this would be my kind of book. But as always the author doesn’t disappoint. How each character got a little bit in didn’t leave me wanting to know more or sad that certain characters got missed out. The narration was great too, how they managed to encompass so many different character and you knew who was who with the voice. Can’t wait to see what unfolds

Another great book by Jay Bell

Wow. After reading (listening) to the something like... series I didn't think it'd be possible for me to feel so connected to a group of characters again, but with this book the characters have already found a special place in my heart! I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!
I would especially like to mention the authors note at the end of the book. This really was what I needed to hear. So I want to say thanks to Jay Bell, his stories really can change lives. I hope as many people read this book as possible, because it may change their lives as well.

Captivating story

Jay Bell again managed to capture the struggle of not only teenage boys but everyone who ever felt different even once in their life.
