Summary

Lessons on preaching biblically, attractively and powerfully from New York pastor Timothy Keller.

New York pastor and acclaimed author Timothy Keller is widely known and respected for his compelling preaching, described by The New York Times as what has 'helped turn Dr. Keller...into the pastor many call Manhattan's leading evangelist'.

In this book he shares his wisdom on communicating the Christian faith from the pulpit as well as from the coffee shop. Most Christians - including pastors - struggle to talk about their faith in a way that applies the power of the Christian gospel to change people's lives. Timothy Keller is known for his insightful, down-to-earth sermons and talks that help people understand themselves, encounter Jesus and apply the Bible to their lives.

In this accessible guide for pastors and laypeople alike, Keller helps listeners learn to present the Christian message of grace in a more engaging, passionate and compassionate way.

Wonderful for all Christians - not just preachers!

I loved this, I listened in preparation for a one off talk but found it so insightful & encouraging in seeking to share my faith day to day with colleagues friends and my church community!

Homiletic Heaven

Preaching is a book of real substance. I think it taught me about as much about being a Christian as it did about preaching. Less of a ‘how to’ preach but more of a ‘how to be’. Wonderful and Christ exalting.

Reinvigorated and inspired me

After just a Sunday where I thought I should quit preaching, this book was a balm to my wounds. It encouraged me inspired me and got me back into the fight! ‘Prepare the preacher more than you prepare the sermon.’

Christ Centered

This is an insightful book on preaching Christ. My joyful moment while reading came when the author was able to highlight Christ in the old testament.
