About this listen
Analyzing the basic nature of human thought and consciousness itself, the author makes available to everyone the key to penetrating the last barrier to the advancement of civilization and science and resolving the most crucial of all human dilemmas: how to instantly determine the truth or falsehood of any statement or supposed fact.
All human endeavors have the common goal of understanding or influencing human experience. To this end, man has developed numerous descriptive and analytical disciplines: morality, philosophy, psychology, and so on. Regardless of what branch of inquiry one starts from (philosophy, political theory, theology) all avenues of investigation eventually converge at a common meeting point: the quest for an organized understanding of the nature of pure consciousness.
To explain that which is simple can be difficult indeed. Much of this book is devoted to the process of making the simple obvious. If we can understand even one simple thing in depth, we will have greatly expanded our capacity for comprehending the nature of the universe and life itself.

Inspiring and wondrous - a first class work!
This book has enabled me to see the world, people, and spirituality in a completely new way. Dr David Hawkins has managed to explain timeless spiritual reality in a way that can make sense to the modern, thinking, intelligent individual. Having read Power vs. Force I went on to read most of Dr Hawkin's other works and also listened to most of his lectures. I have found his knowledge, experience and skilled teaching to be invaluable and the lectures are often humorous and entertaining as well as inspiring.
There is a body of work called "The Great Books of the Western World"; I believe Power vs. Force should be number 1 in the list.
Listening to the author read this masterwork adds to the experience.
You may wish to hunt around on the internet to get a copy of the scale of consciousness as he refers to this and seeing it helps to make sense of it. You can either Google images for "Hawkins scale of consciousness" and it is possible to order a copy from www.veritaspub.com.

Great book poor narration
It's such a shame this experience was spoilt by the David Hawkins narrating. He kind of sounds drunk. Almost like he can just mumble words he's not sure of. A woman reads about the author at the end. What a shame she didn't do the whole book. The book is amazing and he is a great man. The book is so good I will listen to it again dispite the narration.

beyond words, specially endind, summing it up.
The whole book is one of the most importance to the world, if we to create peace on earth. It is so mature, vivid and SIMPLE, I think that is the biggest valour of it, simplicity, the siplest distinction between fasle and truth. So insightfull, Inspiring, hope goving -this was my expirience of this book, a good refreshment, an amazing new perspective.

Found the sound very monotone
Interesting book, gained an understanding into levels of consciousness. My favourite bit was watching your mind makes it humble.

tough to read at first
I have to say this book was hard to read and to understand at first. after I overcome 3 chapters it became easier to read. this book emphasis alot on consciousness and that there are levels ranging from 50-600+
it was a great read on Human behaviour. I wouldn't read it again though I would rather have someone explain it to me. however I did enjoy it.

Powerful & Profound
I bought this book from a bookstore when I saw its title as it sat on the shelf. I knew nothing about the book or the author, it was the first time I bought a book from a bookstore without even opening the book to check it was any good. I just knew intuitively that a book with this title had to at least have something interesting to say.
Upon reading it, the book immediately became one of my top 5 books of all time. I have since read it about half a dozen times, with each time I find myself picking up something new and profoundly powerful.
The little autobiographical story at the end gives an idea of who the author was and how he came to know such unique wisdom.
