Summary
Hudson Higgins had fond memories of Boggy Creek from his childhood. So what better place to escape New York City for a few weeks to finish up a book that was nearing deadline than the small town in New Hampshire his parents visited nearly every summer.
What he couldn’t have known was how his life would be turned upside down when he walked into Greer Larson’s bookstore his first day in town.
Greer Larson lived a quiet life in her hometown of Boggy Creek. She had worked nearly her whole adult life to make her dreams of owning her bookstore come true - and now, Turning Pages was her everything. She lived, eat, and breathed the success of owning her own business.
That is, until a stranger came to town and showed Greer that there was more to life than simply working. A friendship between Greer and Hudson quickly formed over their love of books and the outdoors.
When Greer’s bookstore is threatened, Hudson soon realizes he hasn’t simply fallen for the charm of Boggy Creek and Greer, he’d fallen in love...with both the town and the woman who stole his heart from the moment she first smiled at him.
Playing with Words is book two in the Boggy Creek Valley series and is a stand-alone novel.

A Fabulously Delightful Romance! Awesome Listen🎧📚🎧
I loved every minute of this fabulously delightful small town romance from Kelly Elliott’s wonderful writing style to the amazing characters and storylines she created. The story immediately drew me in, capturing my attention and holding it for the entire book. The characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with, they are likable and it does not take long for you to care about them and root them on. Greer Larson grew up in Boggy Creek, a charming small town and she always loved the bookstore in town and dreamed it would be hers one day. That dream came true when she worked out a deal with the previous owner to buy the store. She is now the proud owner of Turning Pages, she is going to make it her own and plans on expanding it to help her business grow and prosper by adding different reading programs and book events. Author Hudson Higgins’ childhood memories of his family vacations at Boggy Creek made him choose that place to escape the hustle and bustle of the city so he could finish his book. Hudson paid a visit to the town’s bookstore and he found himself intrigued with the owner, Greer, so much he needed to make a return visit. Greer should have known who Hudson was the moment he walked into her store but she did not put it together until she heard his name again. She was happy he came back, the two hit it off and after learning why he came to Boggy Creek she offered him another stay option other than the Inn, her father’s lake side cabin. That remote place was just what he needed to make his words flow or was it the happiness he found at Boggy Creek. I loved how everything played out in this beautifully plotted romance novel, it is a heart-warming story that tugs at your heartstrings and puts an enormous smile on your face and keeps it there the entire time. Kelly Elliott, thank you for another wonderfully entertaining novel, I am looking forward to my next visit to Boggy Creek.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Laurie West and Christian Black are talented narrators and voice artists. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, gave each a voice that suited that character’s persona to a tee, sounding believable and just as I picture the character to sound. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they captured the characters’ emotions and projected them into their performance. Thank you for another wonderfully entertaining listen, it was a pleasure to listen to your work again.
