Calm and confirming
Overall, this concise book succeeds in calmly depicting how a partner may experience their relationship with a narcissist. Insights into the nature of the narcissist's insecurity and the variety of how this can be manifested confirm what perplexing suspicions a partner may be evolving.
My rating of 4 out of 5 stars is my personal response to appreciating the wisdom of good advice to leave your narcissist partner once damage to oneself is evident, but in a longterm relationship that be left, my experience is that the degree of requirement for Time-Out for refilling ones own reservoir of goodwill and generosity cannot be met only by the excellent advice here: to survive, I need affirmation and support from outside the relationship , from professionals, as family and friends can become as disconcerted as I am by the apparent contradictions .
To survive and continue with a relationship with a narcissist, perhaps the addition of Retreat, and/ or Treatment is advisable for the partner.
