Summary
An all-new stand-alone from New York Times best-selling author Julia Kent
One hundred years ago when I was young and impulsive (okay, it was five, alright? Five years ago...) I let my boyfriend take, let's just say...compromising pictures of me.
(Shut up. It made sense at the time.)
Surprise! The sleazy back-stabbing jerk posted them on a website and, well, you can guess what happened. That’s right.
I’m a meme. A really gross one.
You've seen the pictures. And if you haven't - don’t ask. And don't look!
As face recognition software online improves, I get tagged on social media whenever anyone shares my pictures. You try getting a thousand notifications a day, all of them pictures of your tatas.
So. I’m done.
It’s time for revenge. Let him see how it feels! But how do you get embarrassingly intimate pictures of your jerkface ex who double-crossed you five years ago?
Especially when he’s a member of the US House of Representatives now?
Getting sweet between the sheets with a congressman is pretty much every political roadie’s dream, right? I’m one in a crowd.
Except to this day, he swears he didn’t do it. Pursued me for months after I dumped him five years ago. Begged me to take him back.
And I almost did it. Almost. I was weak and stupid and in love a hundred years ago.
Okay. Fine. Five.
But I still have the upper hand. Second chance romance has all the emotional feels, doesn’t it?
I can’t wait to punch him in the feels.
All I need to do is sleep with him once, take some hot-and-sweaty pics of him in...delicate positions, and bring him down. That’s it. Nothing more.
Pictures first. Revenge after. And then I win.
At least, that’s how it was supposed to happen. But then I did something worse than sexting.
I fell in love with him. Again.

Enjoyed it
Perky is the second book in the series following Fluffy and was just as hilarious as the previous book. This story was introduced in the first book and we continue with the storyline in this novel.
Perky and Parker had intense chemistry from the start but the fact that Parker supposedly betrayed and humiliated Perky 5 years ago was difficult for her to forgive. These characters back and forth banter had me amused and the addition of the secondary characters greatly added to the story. The novel included enemies to lovers, second chance and romantic comedy tropes in one story. My only issue was that the story was too slow at times and seemed too focused on the incident that happened 5 years ago. However I enjoyed it as it did have me laughing out loud many times and would highly recommend it to all romance lovers.
This audiobook was narrated by Erin Mallon who again did an excellent job with the characters and bringing the story to life. She infused the appropriate emotion into the story and gave each character their own personality. I loved listening to her narrate this novel.

Cute, funny zingers, great narrator
Erin Mallon, who was the narrator for the other books in this series narrates this book as well and she’s perfect for the roles. She plays other characters well but her deadpanned, comedic timing is perfect for Perky, or Persephone.
Perky had a past with Parker, a politician, who in the past, allegedly publicly shared an intimate photo of her, making her a laughing stock. (he didn't do it) Fast forward 5 years later, when she has to deal with Parker again because of Mallory’s wedding to Will (prior story- read it, it was funny!). She comes up with a plan to get back at him. I wasn’t a fan of the plan especially since she came up with idea when she wasn’t sure that he actually did share the photo. While there were some fun lines and zingers, I felt like there wasn’t as much appropriate levity in this book. But regardless, it was overall a good book and I enjoyed the narration. It was a fun way to spend a few hours although I hope the next book has less negative plotting.

Hilarious and emotion filled!!!
Another absolutely fantastic story in the series! It's great seeing the trio of besties and how they cope with life. This time It's Persephone "Perky's" story, where she comes face to face/lip to lip with the love of her life Parker. Will she give him a chance to talk about what happened 5 years ago?... Is this their chance to get the future and happiness they deserve and crave?...
Can't wait to see what happens next in the series!!!
Great narration again by Erin, hope she's used for the next book too!!!

Perky
Even though this book wasn't as funny as Fluffy or Little Miss Perfect, it was still a great story. I loved that this is part of a series, yet it is a standalone, so I had already been introduced to most of the main characters which makes it so much easier to get into the story. These friends are all crazy and funny and pretty entertaining. I highly recommend this book and the whole series. Erin Mallon did a great job bringing this story to life.

Fabulous RomCom & Narration🎧 Hilarious & Heartfelt
Julia Kent pens another hilarious book in her “Do Over” series. I loved the first two books “Little Miss Perfect” and “Fluffy” which are tough books to follow, but Julia Kent did not disappoint. This book is just as fun as those. This book can be enjoyed as a stand-alone but I highly recommend checking to the first two books, whether before or after, they as too good to miss. Persephone, aka Perky, is Mallory’s best friend and was first introduced in Mallory’s books. While Perky is no where near as quirky as Mallory she is not without her own quirks. Perky’s ex shows up at Mallory’s rehearsal dinner for her rehearsal party (don’t ask), turns out Will asked him to be one of his groomsman. This did not go over well, but Perky comes up with her own plan, to get revenge for what he did to her. Parker denies doing what he was accused of but she would not hear him out. Five years later he still denies it and tells her he has not stopped loving her. She doesn’t believe him and goes forward with her plan, which winds up backfiring on her. This book is well plotted with lots of great dialogue and laugh out loud moments and heartfelt ones too. Julia Kent thank you for another delightful story, these characters and storylines are awesome. I am looking forward to what comes next in Fiesty’s story.
I listened to the Audible edition, Erin Mallon is a fabulous narrator and talented voice artist. She brings these characters to life, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart she puts in to her work as she projects the characters emotions into her performance. She does an amazing job with the banter as well as capturing and landing the humor. Thank you for another entertaining listen🎧

Laugh out loud romance
Julia has done it again with this hilarious romcom. Excellent narration by Erin Mallon. Get carried away with the ups and downs and misunderstandings between Parker, Perky (Persephone) and their best friends.
Definitely a warning against posting anything compromising on the internet!

Love love love I’m in love
So this one deals with a pretty heavy topic (leaked photos) so I was a little nervous going in with how it would be dealt with. Well I’m happy to say it was really well handled and this book was just as funny as the last one. Once again the narration was spot on which just really increases my enjoyment.
I love that this book can stand alone however the first book really adds a nice level of backstory which I felt increased my enjoyment

Loved it!
Audiobook review. Persephone was hurt deeply five years before. What happened to her is an unfortunate reality for many women today and the plot was certainly relevant. However, there is more to the story that she was too hurt to see or hear. Perhaps the man who’d continued to relentlessly pursue her wasn’t the one to do her wrong.
Persephone, or Perky, as she’s nicknamed herself, was a woman who didn’t hold back. She was honest, loyal, protective and a little quirky. I loved her. She was in denial about her own feelings for a while but she was inherently kind. Parker was 🔥. His determination when pursuing Perky was just so attractive. There were a few things he did that didn’t make sense to me but they were a blip when compared to his devotion.
The story was well written, character development was present, and the pace was good. Narrator Erin Mallon is quickly becoming a favorite for me because she is truly great at her craft. Her tone, pitch, pace, inflections, and transitions all were without fault.

Excellent narration
For once, I listened to this audiobook without reading the Kindle version first. In the same vein as the first book, Fluffy, it was fun, comical and sexy!
Persephone AKA Perky and Parker have a history. Five years ago, she was so in love with him until he shattered her heart by posting an intimate photo of her on the internet, which then proceeded to become a viral meme. As a consequence, she completely ghosted him and never saw him again…until she comes face to face (or lips to lips) with him at her best friend’s wedding 'rehearsal rehearsal' dinner! She’s bent on revenge but he just wants another chance. She keeps running away from him and he just wants to talk. Snarky banter and sexy times ensue as Parker persistently pursues her, and Perky starts to question everything she thought to be true five years ago. I just wish she hadn’t been so frustratingly stubborn, as Parker is so swoonworthy!
Erin Mallon is just brilliant. I love her tone, her delivery and her timing. She really brought this story to life. Well worth a download if you fancy something lighthearted and funny.
