A great continuation of the story.
Narrator's performance was as good as always.

This book continues with the Zafirah plot from book 3 and expands upon her character more. Liked her actively becoming more involved with the crew.
Loved the revelations about Onyx, her "family" and her deepening bonds with Molly and Alex. Katerina is ADORABLE! this better not be the last we see of her.
There seems to be some increasing friction developing between Rachel and some of the "higher ups" in heaven, interesting to see where that subplot goes.
Narration as always was 10/10 by Tess
Probably my 2nd favourite book of the series so far!

I absolutely loved the first book. The second was story focused and pretty good. This 3rd book is poor, lacking a logic to the story and focused on graphic sex.

The story is great and fantastically fills in a lot of blank spots that were seeded years ago, My main issue with this book is that characters aren't consistent with who they were in past books. Alex is and always has been a well written SJW, Rachel shares his values but has the chains of heaven holding her back. Lorelei was cold to Alex's concerns but thawed as the series progressed. His friends (Witches included) back him when it's called for, but stop him when he crosses a line. Ideologically they were a mixed bag but not in this book. When it came to sharing their values they have become a hivemind. This heavily impacts Alex because their picking away at his core character trait. And weakened their interactions with new characters, as they all made the same kind of talking points regardless of who they were talking to. As I said the story is a great continuation. Focusing a heavily eluded to connect between Onyx and Alex. With a wonderful and horrible gothic tale involving a family of immortals.

TL:DR The story itself was really good. Supporting characters have been stripped of their diversity of thought or opinion.
