About this listen
Marly's been doing the best with what life's dealt her. Losing her husband a decade ago and raising two kids on her own made her self-reliant and unapologetic. When she's pushed to the limit after losing her job, what's a girl to do? Audition for a spot on a DIY show, naturally.
Jack is a down-on-his-luck television producer trying to catch a break. When an offer comes along to get a fledgling DIY show up and running, he jumps on it. Little does he know that Marly is about to give him a run for his money as Handyman Dan's sidekick.
Return to Savannah and catch up with the characters of A Building Passion (DIY, Book 1) and get to know some new ones in Passion Project (DIY, Book 2). Note: This novel contains adult language and sexual content.

Funny, Romantic and a little Quirky!
I enjoyed this audiobook. The listeners get to revisit some of the same characters from the first book, though this story is a standalone. (That said, I suppose I enjoyed it more because I had the context of the first book.)
Danny, Vanessa and Monica from the first book have the opportunity to take their web-based show to TV. Monica gets her older sister, Marly, to audition for the part of Danny's DIY sidekick.
In comes Jack, a producer has-been. This DIY show is his chance to re-enter the game and he needs it work. The chemistry between Marly and Jack is evident from the start though it features all the caution and mild discomfort you would expect from two experienced, slightly jaded adults.
But throw in the reality of family pressure, the drama around being in the limelight, re-defining careers, etc and this simple case of man-meets-woman becomes a whole lot more interesting, complicated and funny.
