Jeevitha Yaatrayile Oru Pidi Ormakal (A handful of memories from life’s journey)
These are the memoirs of a 75-year-old ordinary man from Kerala, India. Thomas was born in a small village in Kuttanad, Alappuzha District, Kerala. He had an eventful childhood with stressful experiences mingled with mischiefs in a rural background. After passing out of a technical college, and unable to find jobs close to home, he travelled to Pune in western India—thanks to a generous donor—to work in aerospace engineering and later to teach in the College of Military Engineering. Over the subsequent course of a career that took him to Bangalore, Sunabeda (Orissa) and back to Bangalore, he specialized in ensuring the quality and safety of Indian military aircraft and aero-engines. After his retirement at the age of 60, he trained to become an internationally recognized aerospace experienced auditor. Over the past 15 years, he has audited over 175 aviation, space, and defense organizations in 10 countries. His contributions to the global aviation industry include three books in English on technical guidelines for the safety and quality of aircraft. Listen to the personal experience of Thomas, in various phases of his life over 75 years, i.e., childhood, studies, employment, family life and parenting, children’s education, and building up their happy and successful lives and post-retirement life. There may be a lot of exciting points, emotions, and experiences of encountering various personalities and passions, small joys and sorrows, mistakes and corrective actions, failures, and successes. The listener may be able to relate to the many memorable events involved in ordinary situations. This book was written for the author’s children to gain some perspective on the challenges faced and to thank so many who have contributed along the many miles of the author’s life journey before it comes time to bid good-bye and go to sleep.
