Miri wakes up with her grandmother's cat charm
Miri wakes up one morning with her grandmother's cat charm, and realises that she's now all alone. Though her uncle and aunt take her in, they are clearly not happy about changing their lifestyle to look after a child so they ship her off to boarding school where she is just as miserable as she was with them. Luckily the charm is magical and unlocks a potential in her that she never knew about. Then comes P.A.W.S. the Partnership for Animagi, Werewolves, and Shapeshifters who take her in and that's when the drama really starts.
I found the book reads as quite young, but it has some very adult themes.
I liked the voice of the narration, it suited Miri well, but the reading wasn't very smooth and there were lots of weird pauses which made it hard to stay with the story.

Okay
Title: P.A.W.S
Author: Debbie Manber Kupfer
Format: Audio
Narrator: Priscilla FInch
Genre: YA, Paranormal (Shifters)
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: Book 1 P.A.W.S. series
POV: Multiple but mostly Miri
Steam Level: Clean - some kissing
3/5
The premise of this book is fun, the execution, not so much. I found it a bit slow and boring. Debbie Manber Kupfer created a world that has a ton of potential and could explode into many stories with multiple types of animal shifters. Maybe the narrator didn't do this book justice of maybe it was a slow as it seemed but P.A.W.S. fell flat to me.
I received this audiobook for free from StoryOrigin. This is my honest and voluntary review.

What a lovely coming of age story of a shifter.
What a lovely coming of age story of a girl who finds she can shape shift to a cat. Mira is given a cat charm to wear to protect her then the grandmother sadly passes away. Growing up in a boarding school with very few friends and bullies at every corner. She escapes from them by becoming a cat. Not knowing how to control her gift she is found by P.A.W.S.. Who guide her in controlling her gift and finding just like herself. The story in well written, characters believable. The narrator is very good. Enjoyed the story. Great for YA readers.

Great Read for YA Shifter lovers of all ages
Miri comes from a long line of family shifters. Her mom is not part of that line since Miri's omama gave the special amulet to Miri. Her father is the big bad wolf.
Miri goes to school with other paranormal beings and is being taught about her new form and possible powers.
Very good story. Especially if you need a little break from more adultish reads. Will continue the series when I need those breaks again.
Narrator did an excellent job especially with the spells and singing.
I received the audiobook for free from StoryOrigin in exchange for my honest review.

Enjoyable
I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed this story even though I usually listen to audiobooks aimed at adult audiences.
This audiobook is my favourite genre, the plot was good with a few twists and the narrator brought it all together.
