About this listen
Perfect for listeners of You Are a Badass comes a bullshit-free perspective and a no-frills account of anxiety from the front line. For those facing the same struggle, Caroline explores exactly what anxiety is, its triggers and the various treatments - from CBT, acupuncture and diet to the often debated role of medication - that worked for her. With honesty, humour and a bullshit-free perspective, Owning It is a no-frills account of anxiety from the front line.
Through the filtered lens of social media, it may seem like life's a peach, but for lots of people - journalist and author Caroline Foran included - anxiety is always bubbling beneath the surface. Here, she chronicles her experiences. From being unable to cope with the thought of venturing outside, to walking away from her fast-paced job, to the different and sometimes controversial treatments available - from cognitive behavioural therapy to acupuncture to medication - Caroline shows us how she eventually found a way of owning her anxiety so that it doesn't own her.
With extensive research and help from the experts, Owning It is written with honesty and a bullshit-free perspective. Consider it your ultimate practical guide that aims to get you feeling good again.

Great inspirational read
Inspirational and really helping me, my only issue although the voice of the reader is lovely she can read a little to fast for my head to take some of the information in. I found this to stress me out, she needed a slower voice. I will continue to listen again and again & put her exercises in to practice

Good ideas and good summary
Listened to it within a couple of weeks. very helpful - a lot of things i already used but she explained the science behind them and confirmed the studies done on different methods of helping to deal with stress and anxiety

Very relatable
I really enjoyed this, it gave me hope that anxiety can go away and it has given me some new ideas of things to try.
The only thing I would say is that the talking is very fast and I would have to listen to each chapter more than once to take in all the information. But it wasn’t a problem and the reader was being herself (I listen to her podcasts too) :)

Just Listen To The Podcast
I'm always reluctant to buy a book from someone who has an excellent Podcast as it's likely to have all been said but i succumbed.
I was disappointed as the book goes nowhere as deep as her amazing Podcast and yes as i guessed most of it's in the podcast.
I bought this on audio and knowing that Caroline narrates this herself further encouraged me to buy it.
For me the book is shallow, nowhere near the big guns Poppy Jamie and Dr Soph's unique books on anxiety.
I highly recommend Caroline's amazing podcast!

narration way too fast!
I think Caroline Foran is really great, I do. The narration made this hard to listen to, and I felt it a lot of the content was common sense to be honest, it didn't offer me anything new.

I enjoy the podcast
I bought the book as I enjoyed the podcast.
Very helpful & relatable but speaking much to fast like it’s a rush.
Would enjoy another version more relaxed and slowed down.
