Summary

Russia is playing mind games...They've changed the rules.

Can 280 characters destroy a nation?

Avery Goodyear, a romance editor from the suburbs, becomes a player in an international game of psychological warfare.

The FBI watches the attacks unfold in real time. The enemy's strategy: win hearts and minds to destroy American unity. The FBI focuses its secret weapon, ex-Army Ranger Rowan Kennedy, at the crisis.

With a PhD in propaganda, Kennedy puts everything on the line to expose the wealthy oligarchs and high-powered schemers threatening our way of life...and to protect Avery.

To beat the enemy at their own game, Rowan and Avery must break the rules. It only complicates things that they're falling in love.

The game is on. The set is in play. Who will win the match?

Scary topic but a great story

Under the Iniquus banner, but focusing mostly on the FBI, the underlying theme of Open Secret is misinformation and manipulation. The scary aspect is that you can see this going on right now, though not powered by the means the author has thought up.

As always, Fiona Quinn has produced interesting characters with real life issues going on alongside the main thrust of the book. Avery and Rowan are both individuals that you care about and root for.

The narrator does an excellent job producing distinctive and appropriate voices for each of the characters. I would happily listen to him performing other books. There was just one word which really grated on my ears . . . but maybe Americans do pronounce the name ‘Margot’ as ‘Margotte’?

Great narration.

Pretty good storyline, absolutely terrifying if this is what can be done with games.
Anyway I enjoyed the characters.
