About this listen

A night spent sleeping on dirt and leaves is not how Claire Matchett expected to spend her vacation.

She thought this would be a break from the stresses of work and raising her young children. A chance to repair her damaged marriage. A week of hiking and hot tubs with two other couple friends. It sounded like heaven.

Then Claire’s minivan breaks down on a lonely dirt road. With no cell reception, the group has no choice but to hike the rest of the way to their hotel. But it turns out the woods aren’t as easy to navigate as they thought.

Hours later, they are lost. Hopelessly lost.

And as they navigate deeper into the woods, the members of their party are struck down mysteriously one by one. Has a wild animal been hunting them? Or is the hunter one of them?

But as more time passes, one thing becomes clear: Only one of them will return home alive.

Amazing in every way!

I absolutely loved this book, I loved the narrator and the story kept me wondering the whole way through. It was great, I listened to it in one evening and right through the night. I couldn’t turn it off. I have enjoyed all of Freida McFadddens books so far, they are so enjoyable to listen to. The story makes sense and the characters are believable and likeable. The books are not too long, and they make me feel relaxed and are worth every penny. Five stars all the way every day ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Not too bad

It was an okay listen but definitely not one of the best by the author. Although I love Alison’s narration the story was a little flat, with a good twist though

Another crazy twisty enjoyable read!

I just love every Frieda book I’ve read!
I don’t care if sometimes they are a bit far fetched because that’s the fun part.
I really look forward to reading her books and always trying to figure out the twists and turns. I always have to stop myself from listening to the end chapters,( i don’t know why I do that with most books, but I do).
The only difference this time, is that I did really feel sorry for the villain of the story. They were correct that Claire should have listened to her daughter!😂

A good read

This was an ok read but not one of her best. The story was a bit too contrived for my liking and some of the characters were annoying. Some of that was intentional but I suspect we were supposed to like more of them than I did.

Purile plot - poor narration

The story lacked depth, wit or intrigue, the main character was a two dimensional trope & the narrator lacked the versatility to bring the characters to life. Don’t bother.

Knew the story from the blurb

I usually love Frieda McFadden books however this one was disappointing. The title and blurb give the whole story away so ruins any kind of suspense. I found myself feeling irritated by the characters and didn’t find any of them particularly likeable. Sadly I stopped listening towards the end as I had no interest left. If you want to know the story just read the blurb.

Dull

I just couldn't get into this book, it starts out rather boring and sadly continues that way. Its definitely one I wouldn't recommend but we all have different tastes.
