About this listen
A prototype with a fierce primary directive: Protect her.
Oliver is a super-computer built inside a supermodel body; the most luxurious android invented to date. Left collecting dust in storage because of a packaging error, he's finally activated from his prolonged sleep, eager to please his beautiful new owner.
But she's running from a toxic past, and it's catching up to her. His directives are clear: Care for Becca. Protect her.
It should be illegal for an artificial man to be as gorgeous as Oliver is.
Rebecca Curtis moves to New Carnegie from her small town, leaving a controlling relationship behind. Now, she's accidentally got the hottest new android on the market.
Oliver is the perfect man: gorgeous, powerful and dedicated. Becca's attraction is instant. She shouldn't feel this way. He's just a machine.
When her ex-boyfriend refuses to let her go, Oliver keeps her safe. But for how long?
Oliver wants to shield and love Becca in ways she's never experienced. Can he defeat her doubts and bury her past where it belongs?

The beginning of New Carnegie Androids Romance
First book in this sci-fi / romance series, Oliver opens the doors to Roxie McClaine future, where androids are so realistic and perfect, they become nearly human, modern Pinocchios ready to fulfil any woman’s hottest dreams. In my personal view, the MC, Oliver, is way more entertaining than the FC Becca, but this is only my personal opinion 😊. Through the pages of this futuristic novel Roxie McClaine is able to portrait the same struggles of everyday life.

Android Romance
I loved listening to Christian Leatherman, he brought out the characters and made this a very enjoyable listening
Loved listening to Oliver. Oliver is an android his owner can't help but fall in love with him . We have hate groups, business ethics, an abusive ex, self esteem issues, slow burn romance and facing being ostracized. There is humor, romance .

Good start of series
I liked the concept of android feeling, continuing after Victor which I assume is the prequel. It was a good story and Oliver is a fun character, albeit an android one. Definitely a series to listen to (I was lazy and had the audiobook).
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Wow. This book is brilliant. I loved how attached to the robot I got. Oliver is a beautiful character and I definitely fell in love with him. A great performance from Christian.

Great story, excellent narration
First off, I have read this story before (I bought a copy after reading the prequel), but got the opportunity to listen to a review copy of the audiobook.
I enjoyed the story the first time round, but it stood up to a second telling really well (knowing where it was going did not spoil the experience one bit, as I really liked the characters!). This is not always a given, even for books I enjoyed the first time.
Even better though, was just how good the narration is for this audiobook. The narrator did an excellent job of making each character an individual, vital for a dual POV story like this, even the secondary characters. He also did the female voices well (a rare thing!). I will be on the look out for other books he had narrated, and I hope he continues with this series!
I will be looking for the rest of these books, either to read or listen to, as the world building is superb!

Even more magical in audiobook
The narrator, Christian, manages to give voice to each of these character uniquely. Each with their own sound, intonation, accent. It's been awhile since I read this book, but Christian's voice brought all of it back.
I have been lucky enough to have discovered Roxie from the start, thanks to our love for the game Detroit: Become Human.
Roxie has been able to create something unique in which she has found her own voice. Oliver is sexy, steamy as heck and perfect for Becca.
