Summary
I might technically be a fae princess, but my story is no fairytale.
Being told that I'm not exactly human wasn't easy to accept. Neither was spending the last year training for what was to come on my 19th birthday, but I did it anyway. Feeling certain I'm ready for my new life, I soon realize nothing could have prepared me for the reality of it.
Turns out I'm the first descendant in decades to be born from two royal fae lines, but being special isn't always a good thing. All that training I did? Not so helpful when I find out a dark fae is looking to settle an old score - with me as his target.
Enter Ryland, an elusive guardian meant to help prepare me for the inevitable threats headed my way. The only problem? He's impossible, and I can't seem to stop butting heads with him. Even when other forces try to push us together.
Though, regardless of the obstacles, I have to accept the changes in my life and learn how to roll with the punches. Because if I don't? Well, it could mean the end of the little utopia I've found in my new home.
But becoming the hero Arvayta needs me to be isn't as easy as it sounds.

Great Faerie Tale
"I had a date with death and probably shouldn't be late for it."
I really loved this story. It's a unique portal tale full of magic, Fae, great laughs, enemies to lovers romance, and a pleasant twist on soul mates. I listened to the audio is she did a really good job!
Cahlia (Cali), the MC is a biscuits and gravy fan and i absolutely approve.
Cali calls her best friend "Satan" which is hilarious.
"Not today Satan"
There's one chapter told from Ryland's view and I loved it! It's an important plot point that wouldn't have hit the same.
"You still have to fight for the love you desire"
"A storm was about to rage and I was going to destroy everything in my path"

A new look at the falls!
This new adaptation of an older story was very interesting. I like the new direction the story took but I almost wish I hadn't read the original. I felt a bit disconnected to the characters, as the story moved along quickly. But I will definitely still go back through the falls to hang out with Kali and the gang.

Brilliant
This is an exciting young adult tale that draws you in from the very beginning. There is a wonderful slow burn romance brewing throughout this book that really keeps you on the edge of your seat. The brilliant narration really brings the characters to life.
