Summary

The neighbors were afraid of him.
They wanted him gone.
Now he wants revenge.

I never liked the neighbors. My wife, Colleen, liked them. Went to their parties. They tolerated me because of her. After she died, they stopped pretending. I went to trial twice. They always blame the husband. For the record, I didn’t do it. Despite the hung juries, nobody believed me. If I’m bein’ honest, sometimes I pictured my hands around her neck.

Life goes on, whether I’m ready or not. I wasn’t ready for life without her. I was a mess. I didn’t care about the code violations. I should’ve cared, and I should’ve known where the complaints were comin’ from and why. The fees grew by the day, plus interest. After payin’ my lawyers, I was beyond broke.

I was gonna lose my house. Our house. We were married in our backyard. We raised our daughter in that house. I had already lost too much, so I snapped. I wasn’t goin’ down without a fight. They thought I was stupid.

But they underestimated what a man will do with nothin’ to lose.

If you like vigilante justice stories with a side of underdog, you’ll love Nothing to Lose. Buy now to find out how far one man will go for justice.

Gripping Thriller

This is my first experience of Phil William's work and I listened to the audio-book version. I was hooked straight away.

I really felt for Joe as his problems mounted up following the death of his wife but the author cleverly leaves you with the impression that all is not what it seems. Is Joe really a grieving husband or is he even fooling himself?

I found myself constantly re-assessing my view as the plot unfolded and enjoyed every second of the ride.

The audio-book narration was excellent

Excellent quick listen

Accused of killing his wife, his neighbours started a campaign to get him out of the neighbourhood.

With his life spiralling out of control, on the verge of losing everything with no one but a cat for company, he decides enough is enough and those who have wronged him must pay.

Told from the perspective of the persecuted, this is full of twists and turns leaving you wondering who actually did what right to the end.

If you're looking for a shorter listen but still want a story that packs a punch, this is the one for you.
