Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The empowering new way to discover your multifaceted mind.

Do you long to break free from a stuck part of you - the inner critic, 'monkey mind', a bad habit or an addiction? What if there was a way to approach those aspects of you, to free you from the constant inner struggle and find true healing?

In this groundbreaking international bestseller, Dr Richard Schwartz reveals that we are each born with an 'internal family' of distinct parts within us. Some of our parts can become trapped in destructive patterns, but learning to relate to each of them with curiosity, respect and empathy can vastly expand our capacity to heal.

The Internal Family Systems (IFS) model will help you challenge the destructive behaviour of these parts, turn the ego, the inner critic and the saboteur into powerful allies, and allow you to return to a more whole and harmonious 'Self'.

I loved the theory of the protectors and learning to listen to them and listen be them. It’s so helpful.

A fantastic book and a real shift in thinking about the things that hold us back; as individuals and in relationship.

This is exceedingly powerful and wonderful

My therapist has introduced me to this IFS method and this book, I have been working with the method for about 3 months and listening to the Audio book has been so much better - absolutely mind blowing. I gave up some addictions that felt like noise in the background and underestimated them all my adult life pretty much and didn't let me pursue my goals completely and by accepting the negative traits in me, talking to these parts of me I managed to set them free - something shifted immensely - to the better, so I wholeheartedly recommend it with so much love! you will not be disappointed!
I have also paired this with the Sedona Method which I totally also recommend too- these 2 books are about all that one would need to pursue healing in any area of life, in my opinion.
Thank you with so much gratitude Dr Scwartz!
