Summary

All good things come to an end. Not if she can help it....

The life Dahlia built in Sentinel City is over, shattered by betrayal and crushed beneath the rubble of a world she’s come to love. But in the apocalypse, grief is a luxury none can afford. Least of all, the scaled vigilante fighting to protect them.

With half her team MIA, creatures rampaging the streets, and humanity facing destruction, Dahlia struggles to put out more fires than one shapeshifter can handle. All the while, the damaged veil between the worlds is eroding faster. Exits are multiplying, giving the blight free reign to devour all in its path. Relishing in the chaos is the mad scientist, bent on seizing Earth for his own devious plan.

In a race against time, Dahlia must find a way to save what remains of this tragic new reality—before the Renewal extinguishes all life on the linked worlds. The dragon inside her is done sitting quietly in the background.

Exit Strategy is the fifth and final audiobook in the Nite Fire Series.

A great Exit to a great series

Oh wow! I thought 15 hours was a long time for a book but it fly by well as fast as a dragon flapping its wings and I loved it. Well okay not all of it because I did need tissues. This is book five in the series and I would recommend that you read or listen to each book because they are one continuous adventure and are well worth the time. However it also makes it both bitter and sweet. Bitter as it is the final book in the series and I won't get to hang out with the dragons and best side kick in the world again (unless of course I re listen) but also sweet because things get wrapped up very very nicely. I just loved the series, the characters are delightful with there compassion, wit, humour and skills and I enjoyed spending time with them. The story was engaging and took you on an emotional roller coaster as they jumped from one hair rising scary situation to the next fight or battle. The author sure doesn't believe you (or the characters) need to breath or sleep for that matter. So much goes on in this book that it might just be easier for you to listen than keep reading my gushings. I think I will just have to jump into another series by this author and see what other magical adventure she takes me on.
The blight is spreading and the world is fast reaching an apocalyptic event. Monsters are roaming the streets freely and are hungry, bombs are taking down strategic locations and with half her team in the Dragon world, Dahlia and her small team of misfits must do what they can to save as many as they can. Can she do enough though? Stop the city from turning to the only man in control and the man behind the attacks? Stop the Dragon Queen from having her vengeance and turn back the blight that has destroyed so many world? The humans and monster need a new leader but is Dahlia a ex assassin shapeshifter willing or capable to step up?
I loved the narrator. She did an amazing job with so many characters needing voices and she managed to make them All sound so different.
