About this listen
Claimed and cherished by Houston's most ruthless mob boss, artist Vivian Kalasnikov embraces her new position as Nikolai's wife and the lonely, dangerous role as queen of Houston's underworld. But Nikolai is keeping secrets from her, and the whispers of a coming street war leave her terrified for the man she so passionately loves - and the tiny life growing inside her.
Nikolai finally has everything he's ever wanted - power, wealth and a family with Vivian, the beautiful sun who lights up his dark life. But as his young wife prepares for her debut on the international art stage, he finds himself drawn into a bloody conflict that threatens the quiet life he's painstakingly built. He can feel the promise of his future happiness slipping through his fingers like grains of sand.
One wrong move, and he'll lose Vivian and his child forever. One wrong move, and he won't see another sunrise.
The sins of their fathers have come back to haunt Vivian and Nikolai. To protect his beloved wife and his heir, he'll do absolutely anything. The brutal gangster who violently conquered the streets of Moscow and Houston is about to be unleashed - and Houston's underworld will never be the same again.

The narrator spoiled for me
I tried and tried and tried but the narrator spoils for me , child like voice for a adult book?? On top of that she showed no emotion, very flat
What a shame , because I liked the book when I read it

Sorry Roxie
This is one of my favourite Russian series and the books are amazing and I can't fault Roxie for her writing at all.
I think because it's not pinky Powell but the narrator just does not fit at all if she took a breath now and then it might be easier to understand her. I strained to understand her. She has a nice enough voice but needs to change her voice for diffrent characters.

Narrator ruined the overall story
I love this book and have since it was released. Literally reread it loads of times and couldn't have been more excited to see it released onto audio book. Was totally disappointed by the narrator's reading. From the outset she was extremely difficult to understand and she read continuously from story to characters speaking, there was no pause and I almost had to slow it down to discern where the story sentence was ending and a character was speaking. Pronunciation was hard to listen to also, first issue I had was when she said Theatre... The -a-tre... sounded like she was saying Therra. I am so disappointed and after struggling for 10 mins couldn't get into the story for the way it was being read. Requesting a refund and truly hope one day it gets re recorded by the original narrator or at least someone who has a better delivery.
