About this listen
An evil force pulses deep within the heart of England, overflowing with maniacal glee....
Paranormal investigator Denny Purcell finds herself in over her head when she is brought to the scene of supernatural activity at Malpas Abbey. Unlocking the mysteries of this abandoned relic is one thing; surviving the horrors it hides is something else entirely....
This box set contains all three books of the best-selling Nightmare series by David Longhorn. Listen at your own risk.
Nightmare Abbey: Overlooking a dark hill, Malpas Abbey has been avoided by locals for centuries. Its infamous history is marred with blood and terror. Only the foolish would dare enter such a place, where devilish hauntings have left a string of dead bodies in its wake. For Denny Purcell, this is right up her alley...until she realizes she is way over her head.
Nightmare Valley: The peaceful town of Machen is hiding secrets darker than the eerie forest surrounding it. Wide-eyed children roam the woods pleading for help. Yet, behind their innocent façade lies a resurrected evil with an insatiable thirst for blood.
Nightmare Revelation: The nightmare continues to cast a deep shadow as dreadful stories of murder and mayhem make their way into London. But death comes knocking when a thick fog crawls through the night. The smell of fear lingers in the air, and no one is safe.

Invaded
Book 1 Nightmare Abbey: Malpas Abbey has been long abandoned because of its infamous history of murder and terror which began in the 18th century. The place is deemed haunted and anyone entered rarely exits alive. Enter a TV crew and men from the UK Ramola Institute and not everyone gets out alive.
Book 2 Nightmare Valley: Set in the small town of Machen. An evil entities thirsty for blood appears as dead or missing loved ones. And children roam the woods and come back changed
Book 3 Nightmare Revelation: This book is now set in London where thick fog merges with the night bringing death in it’s wake. No one is safe. Denny and her friend Frankie must enter the other dimension to save our world from the Interlopers.
In all 3 books Ted Gould from the Ramola Foundation and Denny Purcell who he recruited from the 1st book, battle the forces of another universe. I enjoyed all 3 books, but the narrator spoiled the experience for me, .He is good on accents and different voices, but he seems to emphasize words in almost every sentence which is not needed and he reads so slow (except when he is speaking for a character) and I felt like winding him up. This slow voice gets very monotonous after a while.

Could Have Been Better
When this started out, I really thought it was going to make a good story, and for a while, it did. But once it got past the paranormal (as in haunting), I wasn't as thrilled. I did listen to it all the way through and I still felt it was a good story, but I would have liked it better if it hadn't gone into that other realm and all that business with "Interlopers". Again, love Thom Bowers doing the narration, he's got such a calming voice and does a variety of different voices, makes listening so easy. Good story if you like "other-worldly" stories.

Rubbish
I'm sorry to say, but these 3 books are as scary as Dumbo!! It was a complete waste of my time and money! Can't really say more, except keep your credits or money in your pocket..

Hard copy might work but not the audio version...
Just awful.
The narration style means that all of the characters come across as 1 dimensional and rather unpleasant with it. Add to that the British accents... I /think/ there are attempts at "posh English", Yorkshire and Scottish. Mostly it turns into an attempt at cartoon level cockney.
Please. If there are British accents and an otherwise good reader can't do them, just do it all in USA American!
