About this listen
We all want to be happy. This goal drives everything that we do. Why, then, are so many of us so unhappy? It's not your fault. You have been told a lie: that achieving your own success will make you happy. This is "old happy," society's incorrect definition of happiness.
The truth is that happiness comes from helping other people to live happier lives. Accompanied by revelatory artwork that explains key concepts, New Happy takes you through the process of unwinding Old Happy, uncovering your own gifts, and using them to both improve your life and the world at the same time. If you have ever asked yourself, "Who am I really?" "When will I be happy?" or "What am I supposed to do with my life?" this book is for you.
Through an inspiring blend of art and science, New Happy will forever change the way that you see yourself and the world. Whether you're wondering what career you should choose, navigating a life transition, going through a difficult time, teaching your kids what matters most, or simply hoping to experience more joy every day, New Happy offers the proven path to a happier life and a better world.

The most important book I've ever read
I decided to give this book a try after following the New Happy Instagram account, drawn in by the positive images Stephanie shares there. I’m so glad I did. Reading this book has completely changed my life. It’s given me the purest sense of hope for the possibility of happiness that I’ve felt since, probably, childhood. The community Stephanie has built on social media, through free website resources, and with the newsletter and book club, is truly beautiful. I’m so grateful for everything she’s done to help others find happiness and for helping me explore who I am, how I’m connected to others, and how to be soft and compassionate with myself—just everything.
It’s one of those books where much of the content is actually things you’ve known somewhere deep within yourself, but she finds a way to bring clarity to it, cutting through the muddy concepts we’ve collected through life that prevent us from seeing how we can be happy right now. I should mention that I’m a natural cynic, a long-term sufferer of depression and anxiety. I’m probably the last person you’d expect to be so moved by such a book... but it has moved me, and if I can influence anyone to read this book with these words, I will be so happy to know I might have helped give someone what I’ve had the privilege of receiving. Reading this book will change you.

Academically rigorous, emotionally captivating
New happy is a fantastic listen, Stephanie is a wonderful storyteller who beautifully explores many of the underlying beliefs that contribute to so much sadness and misery in the world and how we can move beyond them. This is far more than a self help book, it's a brilliant exploration of the philosophy of happiness grounded in solid research.

Refreshing, uplifting and doable!
This book has been a long time coming! Stephanie’s illustrations and emails are the ones that are never left on unread. The way she is able to synthesise complex thoughts and feelings into relatively simple reflection points make her a true expert in her field. We all have an opportunity to make our way in the world with ‘The New Happy’ and Stephanie has provided us with a navigational tool to help us on our way.
