About this listen

Disgraced, destitute, and determined to find out the truth...

Madeleine Russell counted on making a splendid match. Instead, a devastating family scandal left her orphaned and penniless...and determined to uncover the villain who disgraced and killed her father. The beautiful, quick-witted Maddy disguises herself as a household servant, vowing to work in her prime suspect’s house and learn the truth. But the closer she gets to the man who may have ruined her family, the more she feels drawn in by his wicked reputation.

Captain Thomas Morgan rose from lowly beginnings on London’s streets to attain wealth, influence, and a highborn fiancée. Yet his gaze keeps returning to his feisty new housemaid, a stunning brunette who clearly harbors a secret agenda. A desire rooted in deception could lead Maddy and the captain to explosive passion . . . or shattered hearts.

Another awesome Anne Stuart story

The second book in The House of Russell series and what a wonderful story it is. Anne Stuart has the fabulous skill of not only making her characters come to life but give them so much depth that you can"t help feel for them. I would recommend Anne stuart's work to everyone. The narrator does such a fantastic job of both the female & male characters, i was focused only on the story nothing else.

Well written - well read!

loved it! Great distraction and cheeky in a good way. Iteresting storyline with intriguing characters - helps to have a good narrator.
