About this listen

The number one New York Times best-selling series is back with a vengeance!

The world's greatest teen spy is back in action in a thrilling new mission: destroy once and for all the terrorist organisation SCORPIA. Following the events of Scorpia Rising, Alex relocates to San Francisco as he slowly recovers from the tragic death of his best friend and caregiver, Jack Starbright, at the hands of terrorists working for SCORPIA.

With Jack gone, Alex feels lost and alone, but then, out of the blue, he receives a cryptic email - just three words long, but enough to make Alex believe that Jack may be alive. Armed with this shred of hope, Alex boards a flight bound for Egypt and embarks on a dubious quest to track Jack down.

Yet SCORPIA knows Alex's weakness. And the question of whether Jack is alive soon takes a backseat to a chilling new terrorist plot - one that will determine the lives of many. From Egypt to France to Wales, from luxury yachts to abandoned coal mines, Alex traverses a minefield of dangers and cryptic clues as he fights to discover the truth.

Adults as well as children can enjoy this listen

I purchased this in error but didn’t return it as it was so good. The hero is only 15 years old so obviously couldn’t have worked for MI6, but setting that aside it is still brilliant. Would recommend for 10 years old and above

A Good Return to a Superb Series!

Horowitz always manages to surprise me with unexpected twists and turns.

My desire for Alex to finally recover from his terrible ordeal was strong from the offset and even though I knew he would reunite with Jack it was still emotional when they finally embraced.

This book should hopefully end the days of Scorpia and allow Alex to move on to his next target.

However someone needs to tell the narrator that Jack is American not English.

There also appears to be a continuity error as Ben Daniels was referred to as Fox in a previous book but in this one he is called Wolf.

Overall it was a good return after some years away but I'm definitely hoping for more drama and less of a foregone conclusion than this ending had to offer but it sets up future books nicely.

Bring on the next adventure!

Great return

Only just discovered there was a 'new' AR after finishing the first lot as a kid! Fantastic return for the series and a much happier place to leave the story. Excited for Nightshade! The reading by Rupert Degas was great - one tiny complaint in that a certain character was missing their accent.
