About this listen

After narrowly surviving my debut into the magical world, I made a promise to myself: no more hiding in broom closets. But with the Mages' Guild reorganizing faster than anyone thought possible, and naming me as their number one target, that promise seems a little far-fetched. Especially since my training with Callie and Dizzy, the highly experienced dual-mage pair, goes off like a cake in a cannon. Left to find someone that can fill the role, it isn't until a formal dinner party goes horribly wrong that I find the best (and worst) solution imaginable: Reagan Somerset, the leather-clad crazy woman who busted into my broom closet sanctuary in the first place. Through an off-kilter teaching style and many punches in the face, I learn my true potential. But with her happier busting heads and kicking in doors than staying put with a pupil in hiding, it isn't long before the world comes crashing down. The Guild has found me, and they intend to take me alive.

Good addition to the Regan Somerset story

I enjoy KFs writing and loved the fire and ice series so was looking forward to starting this, I will say the heroine of this series (Penny) is no Regan! More of a Bridget Jones with magic, which to be honest I’m not a fan of- I like my heroines to know their own mind and be tough yet vulnerable rather than just vulnerable. I also do not think I’ve come across a ruder or more unlikable character than Penny’s mother!! The entrance of Regan and Darius saved this series for me and I do love Penny and Regans friendship and would love to see that blossom (female friendships are often forgotten in romance novels but it’s so good to read) I would definitely recommend it to fans of supernatural romance but I’d say read Fire and Ice first. Looking forward to the third book!

Mage fun

you will love this book, I am going through fire and ice collection and I cannot wait to get to the next book. This tells you about Penny coming into her magic and becoming the great mage she is, twisted with lots more characters and the narrator makes the story for me.

Natural Mage

In this fifth book we follow Penny's journey as she tried to conquer her magical ability, so she can use it when she needs it. Emery returns and things seem to explode as the Mage's guild start their attack to capture Penny and possibly Emery too. Read brilliantly again by Nicole Poole.

best yet

I maybe wrong but to me this book is the best yet. Really enjoyed listening, I shall go back and listen to the others of this author that I have. As usual plenty of humour mixed into dire situations, excellent story, dialogue and descriptions. I intended to spread.out the listening over a few days, but the story would not let me switch off. Brilliant.
