Historical, myths and stories.
This is a fabulous audiobook to listen to. Admittedly I didn't realise that there was going to be as much historical detail as there was, the title suggests that this book is more about myths and stories, but this is only a smaller section towards the end of the book.
I do have an interest in history, especially European history and like many the myths and stories are something that I do adore. Added to this the author also gives a lot of historical details. The lives, communities, travel and how the Norse and Vikings made their presence felt at the time and also how some things are a basis for things we are aware of today.
The author has obviously done his research and knows this subject well, it is something that became very obvious as I listened to this very thorough audio. I did have a look to see what else this author has written and was delighted to find many other works. These include Celtic, Egyptian, Roman and African books of Mythology and stories.
John Griffith is the narrator who has a pleasant voice and is easy to listen to and has narrated many books.
This is a book for those who like history as well as myth and legend of the era. It is quite comprehensive as it does cover quite a lot of how the Norse and Viking cultures lived at the time. Interesting and I will be looking to either read or listen to more by this author and I would definitely recommend this one.
