About this listen
Once, they shared one soul. Can hope heal years of despair and broken dreams?
Music is all I know. It saved me as a kid. It brings me fame and fortune now. But what am I, the famous Gage Rodin, doing at night when I’m on the road and can’t sleep googling her?
Tess Hades, the girl who still haunts my dreams and my lyrics. She arrived like a quiet storm, a wild thing with eyes guarded to the world. But she let me into the deep end of her beautifully broken soul. When we were together, life was simple. When my life got complicated, she did what she thought was the right thing, she let me go.
While she’s been out saving the wild creatures of the world, my muse has fed on the memory of our life together. But now everything in my world is shifting again, and not in a good way. I’m not certain I have the strength to bear another devastating loss, so I find myself reaching for something as rare and elusive as the perfect song lyric, the one woman who never gave up hope....

Emotionally driven love filled story!
There is something to be said when I can't get enough of an author. No matter what book it has been. Claudia Burgoa always WOW's me. This is an age gap, opposites attract story, packed with feelings and a little angst, but always kept my attention and needed to know how it was all going to end. It features Tess, the daughter of Kaden and we met her in the first book of this duet. Now grown and following her dreams of saving the turtles, she has no intention of settling into a relationship. Gage is an up and coming rock star, and when he sees Tess, he knows she is for him. There is nothing he won't do to get her attention and make her love him. And that is just what he does. Both supportive of each other, they fall into life together. Until Gage up and leaves. Why you ask? Give this a listen and find out what happens. It's tough and touching and it captured my heart. I listened straight through, it was that good and loved every minute.
Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke. I don't need to go on, as these two are so good, I don't have to go further. But their interpretation of these characters should be recognized. The emotions and powerful scenes they portrayed had me tearing and smiling! A wonderful listen that should not be missed.

Amazing Story & Narration🎧 Gripping & Emotional!
Claudia Burgoa blows me away with another amazing romance novel set in her “My One” series and I loved this one just as much as I loved the first book, “My One Regret”. This beautifully written story grabbed my attention right from the start and captivated it straight to the end, it also tugged on my heartstrings too. I adored the two lead characters, well, until one pissed me off, but that character redeems themselves in the end. This book is Tess Hades and Gage Rodin’s story, Tess appears in the first book, she is Kaden’s daughter and it was great to see her again and how much she grew as a person, her biological mother used and abused her, psychologically. She is now following her dreams, studying marine wildlife, working on getting her PhD and then hoping to make a difference in the world. She was not planning on meeting anyone, never mind getting involved with him, but Gage Rodin was persistent and never gave up on her. Gage an aspiring musician who lost his band, is working several jobs, including teaching music, a barista and a bartender. When he first met Tess he was taken by her and he predicted she will be his one day but she had things to do first, like go away to college. He had not known who her father was and when he found out he did not want her to think he was interested in her for that reason, but she finds out his love for music and hooks him up with an audition for her father without his knowledge. Gage impressed Kaden with his talent and offered to mentor him, which helped push start his career in the music industry. He and Tess continued their friendship until it finally morphed into more and they had their life all planned out, that was until it all changed, Gage practically ghosted her and then broke her heart with no explanation, which broke my heart too. It took Tess almost six years to learn Gage’s reason for what he did, but is that reason enough for her to forgive him for what he did? Claudia Burgoa is evil, she had me thinking the worst of Gage but turns out he thought he was doing the right thing just went about it the wrong way, though it was probably the only way. This wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, heartfelt emotions, a heartbreaking twist and a slow burn romance. I loved how everything turned out for Gage and Tess, despite their separation, their love never died and neither moved on. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 And for the wonderful narration, Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, humanizing them, giving each their own distinct voice and personality. They had a complete understanding of the characters they portrayed, sounding believable in every role they played and just as I pictured the characters to sound. Emma Wilder played Tess’ role with perfection, captured her every emotion and had you feeling every single one, Jason Clarke did the same for Gage and both were great performing the roles of the secondary characters as well. These talented narrators and a versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another amazing listen.
