Disappointing
I don't know whether it's the narration that has clouded my judgement, but this book was painful in the extreme. The choice of voices for the characters ranged from ridiculous (who knew the Queen had a crime podcast?!) to frankly annoying (the psychiatrists stereotypically bad Northern accent). The narrators own voice was fine, though!
As for the story: it wasn't bad, very frustrating at times, but where I can usually find some sort of silver lining for characters doing stupid things (ie helping the narrative move along), I just couldn't find any redeeming factors for her general stupidity.
I mean, don't take my word for it - some people have clearly loved this book. It just wasn't for me.

A bit convoluted
I found the plot unnecessarily convoluted. Some of the characters appear to be there just as ‘red herrings’ and you’re left knowing very little about them. The narration was annoying at times. The main voice was fine but some of the character accents were awful.

Slow start but incredible ending!
It did take some effort to keep listening to this book at the start, and initially I thought wow, there is too much unnecessary information being told me to. HOWEVER it all came together at the end in such a mind boggling way that I can’t put into words how much I enjoyed the story.

Don’t recommend
Been reading a lot of books during lockdown and cannot say I can recommend this one. The story was messy and didn’t flow well and the some of the voices the reader does are really irritating. I hung on to the end to hear the ending but it’s not worth the 10 hour read
