Summary

As the day of Grace's wedding approaches, it seems nothing can get in the way of the happy Cherringham event. But just days before, her father Len is suddenly arrested on suspicion of murder - a murder committed 30 years ago, and a thousand miles away. Could Len actually have committed the crime? And can Jack and Sarah unearth the truth in time for him to walk his daughter down the aisle?

Set in the sleepy English village of Cherringham, the detective series brings together an unlikely sleuthing duo: English web designer Sarah and American ex-cop Jack. Thrilling and deadly - but with a spot of tea - it's like Rosamunde Pilcher meets Inspector Barnaby. Each of the self-contained episodes is a quick read for the morning commute, while waiting for the doctor, or when curling up with a hot cuppa.

Co-authors Neil Richards (based in the UK) and Matthew Costello (based in the US), have been writing together since the mid 90's, creating content and working on projects for the BBC, Disney Channel, Sony, ABC, Eidos, and Nintendo to name but a few. Their transatlantic collaboration has underpinned scores of TV drama scripts, computer games, radio shows, and the successful crime fiction series Cherringham.

The narrator of the audiobook, Neil Dudgeon, has been in many British television programmes including the roles of 'DCI John Barnaby' in Midsomer Murders and Jim Riley in The Life of Riley. He is also known for his film roles in The Nativity, Sorted and Son of Rambow. In 2012 Dudgeon starred as Norman Birkett on BBC Radio 4's Afternoon Play series written by Caroline and David Stafford.

one of the best of the series so far.

really like Neil Dudgeons narration, makes the story very listenable. I can't wait for more audio books in this series to be released.

Best yet from Cheringham

Despite having listened to this before, it was just as great. Narration as always superb.

Just brilliant

Loved this offering from my favourite crime fighting duo. Really wish the writers would awaken them to the fact they have fallen in love with one another though and move the story line on in the way it now needs before it gets too tired.

I can thoroughly recommend this book.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book, as always, with the unrivalled narrator Neil Dudgeon. No book in this series has failed to excel in the cosy crime genre. Excellent characters all superbly portrayed by the narrator. First class entertainment.

long running series running out of ideas.......

I really enjoyed these in the early days but as always happens with detective series plots get thinner. This is one of the poorest if not the poorest of the Cherringham story's. There's only so far the authors can take Jack and Sarah unless they come up with something. I hope for the sake of their loyal 'readers' the authors remember we deserve better and that publishers cheques may not be 'everything' !
