Summary

Agatha Christie’s third book and second Hercule Poirot mystery with Captain Hasting set in Belgium. One of the most underrated Agatha book, full of fun, intrigue, romance, and more. A largely unexpected jewel.

Unlistenable to!

I am sorry, I don’t normally complain but I found this production absolutely terrible.. Awful stumbling narration and annoying background music. Just can’t listen to it. I want to return it but can’t work out how. Didn’t even get through the first chapter.

Awful

The reader is the problem with this, his pace was was bad, fumbled words and sounded drunk. couldn't get past the first few pages. Skipped ahead to see if it got any better...nope. Poor Agatha.

Murder on the links

Utterly disappointed. Poor narration, annoying background music. Sad to have wasted a credit. Brilliant story though, just needs a different reader.

Narrator not fluent

The narrator of this book was very hard to listen to. Some of the sentences read had pauses at the wrong time which made it difficult to retain the flow of the story. Also, not all words were pronounced correctly, again, making it hard to retain the flow of the story.

Spoilt by dreadful piano background throughout

Relentless piano background needs to be removed by production team for anyone to hear and enjoy this story. Hercule Poirot quoted with American accent was an interesting twist.

Ghastly!

I have no idea what this book is about because the narrator was unlistenable to and the background music was intolerable. All round, an appealing effort.

Very hard on the ears and the senses of Christie lovers !

I don’t know who chooses the narrators of the books on Audible but I think in future they ensure the narrator can read and is capable of audible acting !! The narrator makes little or no attempt to understand the narrative nor does he attempt to interpret the story in any form at all!
