About this listen
The Grand Slam Club. Is it worth murdering for?
Cuba - a land of classic cars, beautiful beaches, salsa music, and the best cigars in the world. When Mike’s friend, Jack Trout, asks Kelly and Mike to join his wife and him on an exploratory trip to a Cuban island, it’s an invitation they can’t resist.
Mike’s dream of fly-fishing the saltwater flats on the exotic island is quickly replaced when he’s asked by the local constable to help solve the murder of a British fly-fishing guide, Dudley Samms. Jack becomes a suspect and his wife, Carola, asks Kelly to help solve the crime.
Plenty of quirky characters have reasons to wish Dudley dead, but who killed him? The Englishman who is the head of one of the largest international banks in the world? The American with no visible means of support, but who has plenty of money to fish all around the world? The victim’s wife? One of the Cuban fishing guides? Or was it Jack?
This is the eighth book in the popular Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery series. It is loosely based on a trip the two-time USA Today best-selling author took to Cuba.

Gone fishing with a good book
I really enjoyed this book. The setting of Cuba is a very different setting for the mystery to take place and I enjoyed the taste and a little bit of back history about the place. The reason for being there was very different too, I don't think I have read a book about fishing before. Don't worry you don't get bogged down with how to cast a rod or technical fishing terms because the story does focus on the mystery, oh and food, well you do get some Cuban recipes at the end of the story. The mystery it's self is interesting with a good group of characters, I especially liked the addition of the cheeky cat. Look forward to more of this series.
When the Cuba embargo is lifted Jack Trout asks his good friend Mike if he and his wife Kelly if would like to join him fly fishing, while he competes to become there new fishing guide. It soon turns into a working holiday for Mike as Sheriff when one of the other applicants dies. He knows his friend didn't kill the man but can be prove it? Kelly can't just sit on the beach and relax while there is a good chance that Jack could spend the rest of his life in a Cuban jail. Time to start asking questions and find the motive behind the murder.
I liked the narrator, she has a distinct voice that she uses well.
