Summary

Cilla is a 22-year-old contract killer, specialising in the dry job: a murder interpreted as death by natural causes. Neither strong, nor beautiful, she isn’t your typical female protagonist. In fact, she is so unremarkable as to render her almost invisible, an advantage in her line of work.

Cilla has survived because she is clever, stubborn and lucky. Plus, the weapons training and lessons on poison at the elite Academy 43 have stood her in good stead. But statistically her luck is bound to run out. She must find a way to reinvent herself. Soon.

Brilliant debut novel

I found myself stealing a few minutes here and there so that I could keep listening to this book. I loved the characters, the scene setting, and storylines. Hard to believe this is a first novel. Hoping for a sequel!

An entertaining read.

I didn’t want this to end. Great characters and plot,.. this writer can really tell a story.
Very subtly funny at times too. I loved hearing Cilla’s story and want more!

The best book I’ve ever read.

This book is truly amazing. I couldn’t stop listening to it, thinking about it and wanting more. I do hope you write another. Thank-you Anders for your recommendation.

Didn’t do much for me

I sort of liked the concept of the book but I found it rather a tedious read. I was only interested in what happened in the last 30 minutes. I didn’t warm to any of the characters and even though we heard the inner monologue of the main character she felt rather flat rather than a full 3D character.

The narration wasn’t great. The tone of the woman just didn’t fit with the book at all and I felt she was bored reading it out.
