Summary
Lies, spies, film stars, and murder.
New Year’s Eve, 1921
Posie has been asked to accompany Inspector Richard Lovelace of Scotland Yard on an undercover mission. Their destination is a glittering New Year’s Eve party at Maypole Manor, the clifftop home of Lord Robin Glaysayer. Among the 12 guests are a famous film star, an artist, an Italian nobleman, a government spy, and a clairvoyant.
With a blizzard raging outside, when a killer strikes, the Inspector and Posie’s skills are tested to breaking point as they try to find the murderer before he attacks again.
But danger lurks at every corner: just who exactly is the mysterious 13th house guest? Why is Posie being singled out for special attention?
And will she ever see Alaric Boynton-Dale ever again?
This is a classic Golden Age of Crime murder mystery which will appeal to fans of Agatha Christie and Downton Abbey. Murder at Maypole Manor is the third book in the delightfully classic Posie Parker Mystery Series, although the novel can be enjoyed as a stand-alone story in its own right.
If you love an action-packed historical cozy crime with a feisty protagonist, get Murder at Maypole Manor now.

I really love these books but..
The author needs to do some research!
On the whole the plot and the running story line of these books are absolutely brilliant. I have them all and have listened to them numerous times. However there are little things that really niggle.
In this book we see Posie heading down to Dover on the Golden Arrow able to see Rochester Cathedral as she goes over the river Medway on a bridge that was built for the high speed line that only started running in 2007. It’s not particularly specialist knowledge either just common sense as the author must have been down to Dover (Dover is described particularly well) on that line to describe it so well.

Snowbound and in Peril
Yet another cracking story.
Miss Hathaway, in her usual way, manages to weave a wonderful tale of treacherous endeavours set in a snowy backdrop.
It had me sitting in my car outside my house waiting until the end of chapters, or wishing for traffic on the M6 motorway just to be able to hear a few more words.
I highly recommend it.

Brilliant performance of a gripping story
This story is wonderfully performed by Clare Wille and takes so many twists and turns it is hard to keep up at times. An excellent addition to the Posie Parker mysteries.

Three in and getting better & better!
Came across this series .. and what a find! Clever, engaging & fun. A terrific lead character well supported by a returning cast of characters - the plots are well constructed and the books are read well. I am really enjoying the series. Recommended

First Time Read
I loved the characters, the narrator is so good, she brings Posy to life. This led to me listening to her complete series to date. The author does this style of book so well. A true pleasure.

Amusing and quite well written but ....
Every book in this series has its own special anachronism. In this one it is nylons which weren't invented until 1939. In a previous book a jet trainer plane appears in 1920
These are things you can check with Google in less than a minute and would suggest that the author and her editor should work harder on the editing
