About this listen
Looking for a brilliant best-selling murder mystery with a feisty female detective?
Meet DI Hillary Greene, a policewoman struggling to save her career and catch criminals.
Flo Jenkins is found murdered in her armchair, a paperknife sticking out of her chest. The old woman was well liked and nothing seems to have been stolen from her home. And it was common knowledge that she only had weeks to live. Why kill a dying woman? This is going to be one of the toughest cases yet for Hillary to solve.
Hillary also has to deal with a new colleague who has a terrible temper and a rocky past. With no forensics, no leads and only a drug-addict nephew as a suspect, will this be Hillary's first failure to solve a murder case?
This is a crime mystery full of well-observed characters, which will have you gripped from start to finish.
Murder at Home is the sixth in a series of crime thrillers set in Oxfordshire. Perfect for fans of Agatha Christie, Colin Dexter or Ruth Rendell.

Great storyline
I liked the story arc but the narrator surprisingly used weird pronunciations for quite a lot of words which stunned me. It ruined my pleasure. And of course the liberal use of Americanisms as usual. I don’t mind these in American books but they don’t sit well with me in obvious British literature.

Good story appallingly read.
This is another great story by this author. Very entertaining. But why did Audible allow the reader/performer to sound as if she was on a high dose of Valium or extremely stupid? Such a shame. I know it can’t be read too quickly, but, come on! the performance was AWFUL!

Am enjoying this series - along with the usual teaser to get the next book.

A good series
A good series. I like a series with lots of ‘episodes’.
Although the author must cringe and wonder why she bothered when she hears the mispronunciation of English names and words. At one point I wondered if the narrator might be American putting on an English accent!

Crime and positive senior police officer
Reading the series and really enjoying the books , characters are well described and easy to create an image - finding it a little tricky to work out which book comes next and audible could make that easier by labelling the books more clearly

Great ending
Readers occasional mispronunciation. Otherwise a very good story, well up to the author's standard.

Excellent story, poor narration
Enjoyed the story very much and didn’t guess who did it until right at the end (just about the time Hillary did!!). A couple of interesting sub-plots included that covered some societal issues.
I must be getting used to the narrator as she doesn’t seem quite as annoying as usual, although the pauses between sentences and paragraphs do not make for the best listen. HOWEVER, somebody needs to address her many mispronunciations. For example, Z Cars (a well known UK TV show which is pronounced Zed Cars not Zee Cars!!!), seconded (meaning temporarily assigned to something pronounced as if it means something being agreed to), path (being short for pathology being pronounced as per the short name for pavement) and worst of all…….a terrible attempt at pronouncing Newport Pagnell!

I continue to love this series
Sometimes a change in the main characters can have a negative effect on a series but in this case, it just seems a seamless transition which allows development.

Well crafted story with several themes
I would enjoy Faith Martin's stories even if I wasn't an Oxfordshire resident. They are well written and show both the more pleasant and seamier side of life in this county.
