Summary

She picked the winning numbers. She won millions. Is that why she was murdered? And are the rich really that much different than you and me?

When Marty’s wealthy new appraisal client is murdered, things get messy. Marty's husband is the lead detective on the case, and he needs her to help him solve the murder.

Can Marty’s psychic sister help? How does Patron, her young boxer dog, seem to sense when she’s in danger? And what about the ghost her sister sees? Could she really be the murder victim’s mother?

Another engrossing cozy mystery from a two-time USA Today best-selling author.

Rags to riches to murder

I enjoyed this book. This has always been a fun series because of Laura's psychic premonitions, I like that sort of thing because it adds a slight twist to the story. But now Dianne Harman has stepped it up a level with the new puppy Patron. I love the way he knows that Marty was in trouble, it reminds of how our dogs always knows when it is dinner time. The mystery was good with a number of different suspects, I enjoy how the author makes you suspect someone and the n you find out they have an alibi. The characters are interesting but as I said Patron steaks the show in this book.
When you come from nothing and win it big people are going to resent you especially when you can afford to out his them on the art work they were coveting but is that really a reason for murder? Marty is about to find out, her latest client has just been killed by a very unusual murder weapon and Marty receives some unexpected help from Patron in narrowing down the suspect list. She needs to work out what he is trying to tell her or warn her about and to do that she has to eliminate the others first. But is she right to listen to her dog? Her sister Laura also gets some advice from a strange source.
I liked the narrator. She has read a number of books for this author and is always a pleasure to listen to.
