One for the taste buds

I enjoyed this book. Mainly because it had a lot of familiar characters that we have met over the course of the series. When you say Northwest cozy mystery series I think of DeeDee and her husband Jake but with them off helping out, it is left to Cassie and Al to handle the investigation. Like normal the story starts with the murder and then goes over interactions between the main suspects and the victim, giving you an insight into why each person wanted her dead, then it's up to you and the main characters to figure out who had the biggest reason. I like the story written this way because it keeps you guessing and makes for an interesting investigation.
Cassie is writing a food book about someone of the interesting food she has blogged about and arranged a dinner with her photographer and her sister to discuss it. When Toni doesn't arrive they never thought it was because she had been murdered. Her sister finds the body and calls Cassie and Al for support and because they are the only people she knows in town. Al is handling all Jake's cases while he is out of town and knowing this the under staffed police chief asks Al to lend a hand. Toni was a popular food photographer but as Hilary helps Al get to know her dead sister they find out that not everybody liked her. But which one had the biggest reason to killer her?
I liked the narrator, she was laid back and softly spoken but you never had a problem knowing which character was talking.
