Summary

The PI team of a deacon, a computer expert, and her grandmother returns in this twisty cozy mystery from the bestselling author of Murder Unexpected.

When DI Tessa Marsden is called to a road traffic accident, she is disturbed by the crime scene she must investigate. She now has a double murder to contend with; two dead girls from the same village.

Realizing the murders aren’t linked, Marsden summons the help of the Connection Investigation Agency, run by Kat, a church Deacon; Beth (known affectionately as Mouse), a computer expert; and Doris, Beth’s feisty grandmother.

When it is discovered that one of the murdered girls was pregnant, the case takes an unexpected turn.

Can DI Marsden, with the input of Kat and Mouse, solve the case before another body appears?

Meanwhile, the agency has been asked to track down the long-lost son of Ewan Barker. Will Kat, Mouse and Doris find him and reunite him with his father?

This might just be their toughest investigation yet . . .

Another fantastic book by Anita Waller!

I have really enjoyed this book series I wish there was going to be more than five books. The characters are wonderful, I love them, Nan is amazing reminds me of my Aunt Pat! Kat and Mouse are fantastic and I have really grown to like the Police Directives. This story was dark and yet it had a light tone, which is brilliant. Anita Waller has this masterful at doing this with these books. Claire Storey again is wonderful as the narrator. I have really become invested in these characters.

5* Series

This is the third in the Kat and Mouse series I have listened to and it just gets better and better. The characters are well established now, though you can also listen to these as stand alone as the author provides all the necessary background details.

In this story we start with two missing girls and DI Marsden has to establish if these are separate incidents or somehow connected. We also have the agency looking to help Ewan Barker find the son he never knew he had. Ewan and Doris take a shine to each other but is he all he seems!!

This audio is once again narrated by Claire Storey and I personally find her excellent at narrating this series. Her tone is easy to listen to and manages to capture the voices of the different characters and I instantly know which character is speaking. As a huge lover of audiobooks I find it imperative to have the right narrator otherwise the best book can be a chore to listen to. I find Claire to be the perfect narrator for this fantastic series which I highly recommend.
