About this listen

A honeymoon. A remote island. And Murder....

USA Today and Amazon two-million copy best-selling author Blake Banner is at his best in this mystifying crime series!

When detectives John Stone and Carmen Dehan who run the Cold Cases Department at the 43rd Precinct in the Bronx choose their honeymoon together, there are three things they are very clear on: there must be good steak and whisky, it must be remote, and for two blissful weeks they must forget about work, about cold cases and about murder.

So a small island off the north coast of Scotland in a 16th century castle seems to be just the job. After all, two out of three isn’t bad. At first the place seems idyllic: The wild landscapes are breathtaking, the northern lights otherworldly and the fire-side talk, fuelled by good whisky and good Angus steak, is fascinating.

Maybe a bit too fascinating when it leads to a 40-year-old mystery about a man murdered, shot with a .38 in a locked room in circumstances which are, quite simply, impossible. And when the island is cut off by a storm, and an identical murder is committed, well, what are two cold case cops on honeymoon to do?

A bit tortuous but goid for fans. But one error

There could be more errors yo do with the setting but I am not knowledgeable enough to have heard them . The one I did hear 1min FRIM THE END!! JAMES BOND DRIVE AN ASTIN MATIN DB5!!! Not a DB6. Minor pount but I loved that car!! Well Stone is as smug/clever as ever little wife really a second string in this one which was odd but mainly kept your attention, had humour so if you like this series you will enjoy this and worth a credit.

Not very Scottish at all.

I really was not convinced by the Scottishness of this book.
The first mispronounced place name was within a few seconds - EDINBURGH. Surely the reader could have pronounced our capital city's name correctly.
Quite a few more cringeworthy things, and then we have the appearance of a Coroner. Really! In Scotland?
