About this listen
When Elizabeth Bennet's parents joined together and insisted that she accept Mr Collins's offer of marriage, she decided to take matters into her own hands.
The consequences of this threaten her reputation and produce an unexpected marriage proposal from the proud Mr Darcy. However, when he discovers Elizabeth is already engaged to her cousin, will he feel bound by his offer? And will Caroline Bingley stand idly by and let the man she had set her cap at these many years marry another?
Darcy to the Rescue is a light-hearted alternative to Jane Austen's version of events after the Netherfield Ball.

Lizzie on the run
3,5 stars rounded up to 4 stars.
This a novella where Lizzie is forced into an engament with Mr Collins. So Lizzie decides to flee to London to the Gardiners. Unfortunately she doesn't have enough money to ride the post wagon. So she decides to walk the first 7 miles. Unfortunately it is snowing, and she just misses the post carriage. Then she encounters the Bingleys and Mr Darcy with the two gentlemen riding horses, though she doesn't know it is them. So she is afraid they are robbers and decides to flee. She is wounded a during the run and she is rendered unconsious. Mr Darcy follows her and take her to a small hunting cabin. They have to stay there due to the snow storm.
I would would have given the story a better rating, if I didn't find the Caroline Bingley plot very unlikely. Both her ploy and that Lizzie would believe it.

Gosh
This is a very good telling of the story from the television series but it’s more you feel that you are in the story and not just listening

Lovely heart warming variation
Harry’s narration as always was excellent, he makes sure to differentiate between characters which really helps with the story telling. I love this forced proximity variation, there are some lovely scenes and Darcy is ever the gentleman. I will re-listen this one again.

Lovely story.
The next best thing to Jane Austen. It is a lovely story with a lot of misunderstandings and surprises. I loved Harry Frost’s narration.
A review copy of this book was sent to me by the author. All of the above opinions are my own.

runaway
I enjoyed the narration of Harry Frost, who brings the characters and plot alive. Perfect.
If you love Pride Prejudice open your mind and remember this is going to be a different to the original, as it should be.
Loved Mr Darcy's confrontation with Mr Collins over his engagement to Elizabeth was brilliant, I found myself laughing. Mr Collins character made me chuckle.
Sit back and enjoy.
