About this listen
Returning to the magical old willow tree after six months is both daunting and exciting for Mouse. Knowing the possible consequences of drawing a picture which could lead her into further adventure, what does she draw this time?
Inanya
The evil queen of the sea is tormented by a past she desperately wants to change. Surrounded by reminders of what she could be, if not for the menacing world she and her ancestors had created for themselves. Surrounded by dangerous defenders, she continually terrorises anyone who crosses her path.
Having not told anyone about her adventures in another world, Mouse braves drawing a second picture under the willow tree. She is transported to yet another world, where she makes new friends, and sinister new enemies. The volcanic island holds deadly secrets which only Mouse can unlock in order to ensure the safe future of the islanders. Will the Serpent Queen finally be free of her past. And will Mouse conquer her fears whilst battling vicious creatures desperate to kill her, and searching for the key to a peaceful world: the Lost Trident?

Great Seaquel
What did you like most about Mouse and the Serpent Queen?
The story line follows a similar one to the first book, but with some added unusual twists to the story line.
Who was your favorite character and why?
mouse is a great character - she seems timid from her name but comes across as very strong willed.
What about Joella Berkner’s performance did you like?
Joella reads well, but her American accent and pronunciation of some words doesn't quite seem right.
Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Some parts were funny - I think it would appeal to younger children. I listened to it with the idea that I could use it with my class (I teach 9/10 year olds)
Any additional comments?
Looking forward to the final book - the ending of this one was a cliff hanger - I want to know what happened.
