About this listen
When a leather parchment of Montezuma’s map is found in great-grandfather Evans’ old chest, April and the twins know this summer is going to be a memorable one. The girls want to search for it but their father is against it for some mysterious reason. With Julia’s help, she and the girls convince John to go on a treasure hunt. Is Montezuma’s treasure a legend or reality? Whatever the case, John insists on keeping their little treasure hunt a secret. If certain people find out about it, the family could be in danger.

Intriguing I
I did enjoy this book but would call it more of a romance than an action adventure. Don't get me wrong the characters do going looking for treasure but most of the story is taken up with a camp fire 're telling of a romance, a young teenager just discovering love and a happily married couple spending time together. Although not what I was expecting I did enjoy it and things certainly heat up at the end with a few twists. The author does a lot of research to back up her story and make it interesting. The author even managed to fit in some humour. Off to join the Evans family in the next book.
When the Evans sister discover a trunk in there attic, it sends the whole family off on a treasure hunt when the map they find turns out to be an actual place. The treasure has a curse and mystery attached to it that has there father reluctant to search for the gold, especially when the news of there hunt makes it to the newspapers. They aren't the only ones looking for it.
I like the narrator. Have heard a number of books narrated by her and always find them to be enjoyable.
