About this listen

Nothing will make her quit. Not her student’s teasing. Not the frog in her desk. And especially not that brute Martin Slade.

For as long as she can remember, all Isabelle has dreamt of doing is becoming a teacher and escaping life on her family’s ranch.

Although the small town of Pine Ridge might not be that far away, the town’s recently established schoolhouse is in need of a teacher.

Isabelle is quick to accept the position and start out on her first adventure alone - only she soon discovers that teaching in this rugged town out west might not be as easygoing as she originally supposed.

And one of the biggest obstacles to stand in the way of her success turns out to be the father of two of her students.

Martin is unimpressed with Pine Ridge’s new school mistress.

The pretty Miss Isabelle Howerton is clearly too young and inexperienced to be teaching his children - and Martin is only too happy to tell the lady herself!

Yet Isabelle is determined to prove him wrong, and that she does have what it takes to be an exceptional teacher, even in a town like Pine Ridge.

Tempers flare as hot as summertime in Montana, as pride and passion lead Isabelle and Martin to continuously collide.

But could this inescapable attraction between them be leading them to something worth burning for?

Montana Summer is an intense story of attraction and longing. Together, Isabelle and Martin must overcome their own misgivings and insecurities if they are to ever find the love and belonging they both desire.

You won't be disappointed

I'm a fan of the genre, and bought the Kindle edition of this book to read over my 1 week vacation. Well, I finished it on the first night! So I bought the audio version hoping it would enhance the story even more, and wasn't disappointed. I thought the voice and the pace was just right, and imagined it could've been read by Isobel herself

Like no other author I've read, Garrett transports you to the mountains of Montana. I felt like I was there, watching Isobel and Martin's awkward encounters gradually blossom into companionship and then a beautiful love. The story is very engaging, the characters were really well developed and easy to identify with. Best of all was the rich descriptions of the scenery and geography from life back in those simpler happier times.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series and hope you enjoy it like I did.
