About this listen
You probably won't like my story. Heck, I'm not sure if I even like it myself. Between getting burned at the stake and being drowned, almost twice, it's quite a lot to swallow.
I'm not sure where it all went wrong. Everything was going fine my freshman year of college as a history major. I had a full-time job as a paramedic and any girl I wanted was mine. When tragedy struck our family, I found myself in France with my sister, Jules. And she just had to touch that mirror. She had to get us transported to the middle ages. 1155 A.D., to be exact. What. The. Hell.
So this is the story of how I bedded a queen and married a poet, all to end the family curse. My name is Guillaume, but you can call me Gill, and despite what you hear, this story is all my sister's fault.

Funny
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
This was a pretty funny time travel book, and it was an easy listen. It’s a bit upsetting that it ends on a cliffhanger because now I want to read book 2 to know what happens.
I wasn’t a fan of Gill, the main character, who spends most of the book talking about sex and women’s features. Like... get on with it. He felt like he was slowing down the novel.

Okay for the younger adult...
A bit of a strange short story, though appreciate this is only the first part of, presumably, a series. I found it very disjointed, and lost track of what was happening on a few occasions.
I found the characters and the language used a little crude at times, and certainly felt the author had the younger adult in mind whilst writing this story.
Surprisingly, I finished the story, but I won't be looking for more from this series.
Competent enough narration.
I was given this copy for free, in return for an honest review.
