Summary

I’ve escaped from a nest of backbiting nobles…only to fall into a whole city of them!

The Baron Sherazad sent me as far away from Eslant as possible. Now, I’m stuck in the middle of nowhere, in a nest full of enemies, with only a demented mimic and a renegade elf to watch my back.

Arrdeam’s rulers are determined to keep their civilians weak and under control, but that won’t work for me. Me, Melina, and Chester need to grow strong…strong enough to defeat all our enemies and to one day make our way back home to get our revenge. Strong enough to survive the mysterious corruption that’s sweeping through the world.

And if anybody tries to stop us? Well, Chester’s always looking for his next meal.

Even better than the first book

I really enjoyed the first book but this one is even better. The characters have always came across as likeable but you the voice acting really makes them come alive. No spoilers, but I enjoyed the interludes and how it all came together.

Enjoy!

Tasteee!!!

Like our lovable antihero Chester i want more, give me moooooooreeeee!!! On a more serious note if you listened to the first you know what you're getting.

Like the last, this is a light-hearted adventure that doesn't take itself too serious. It's got dark bits and funny bits and parts that will make you want chester to eat everyone. Overall reccomended to any who enjoyed the last and wants more of the same.

Enjoyable listen

A Wild Ride

Another amazing read! Chester's antics are very entertaining and the system is really starting to intrigue me.

I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

CAKE FRIEND!!

Ok, I'll just start this off by saying, sure.. I might be biased to stories with mimics as a main character... And Jeff hays voicing said mimic.. But on with the review!

Mimic and me 2 is a great continuation showing how the newly powerful heroes in a strange land can be both weak and OP.
The character interactions are fun to discover and see what threads are going on in the background.

Ryan does a great job at narrating returning from the first book. Solid voices and accents make the characters easy to differentiate and the listen thoroughly enjoyable. Also Jeff is a mimic... Again... You know if I had a nickle for each time Jeff Hays brought a mimic to life, I'd have two nickle... It's not a lot but it is weird that it happened twice.

Good Continuation

Ryan, Jeff, and Dorrie are back at it again, and they’re as good as ever. The acting performances, character nuances, and overall audio quality are a definitive step up from the first book. You can genuinely tell how Ryan’s vocal range and acting skills grow as the story progresses.

The second book picks up right where the first one left off. We get to explore a new city, encounter awesome dungeons, and meet a lot of new characters. All while not forgetting about the enjoyable character interactions and the continuation of the overall plot. It’s a genuinely fun ride (or, as Chester would say monster meat wagon), and it’s a pleasure to see the threads of the individual plots coming together in the end. I can’t wait to see where the story will take us in the future.

Everyone Clapped

the virtue signalling, 180 on character personality/action,
snoby greedy noble "oh I have seen the errors of my way let's give all my wealth to the commoners" actually happens in a ridiculously shoehorned way, to many things that break the story
I do not recommend this book
and a minor thing the audio is chopped off at the end of some lines, the voice actors did a great job, the editor did a ok one
