Summary
Wrap up warm and watch the snowflakes fall, the Christmas bookshop welcomes you home...
A feel-good Christmas novel from Sunday Times top ten bestselling author, Jenny Colgan.
Carmen is at a loose end. Her gorgeous bookshop is the filming site of a cheesy Christmas movie, she's been ousted from her sister's house, and the love of her life has just flown thousands of miles away. It's threatening to be a very unjolly Christmas indeed!
But when the elderly owner of the shop comes to Carmen with a Christmas wish that threatens to never come true, Carmen knows she must buckle down to get the funds to save not only his trip, but the shop itself. While fending off a shady tatt-selling businessman, Carmen discovers wonders to the shop she could have never imagined, and opens a labyrinth of bookish backrooms for the customers to get lost in.
With her deadline looming, it might take more than a fresh coat of paint to solve Carmen's problems. But with the help of their neighbours, her nieces and nephew, and a very distractingly cute male nanny, Carmen might just pull her greatest magic trick yet...

Wonderful sequel
Loved this ! A lovely sequel - perfect for getting into the Christmas mood. A happy, cosy Winter read for if you want something feel good but not blindingly obvious. Some fun new characters and whilst we can predict at least part of the ending, there are plenty of surprises en route. Read the first in the series first though

The Christmas Bookshop and Midnight at the Christmas bookshop
The two books are well written, and well narrated, weaving in real Edinburgh. The characters are flawless and the ability to imagine the feel, smell and thrill of the bookshop very palpable. Thank you.

Excellent
A lovely story beautifully narrated. Another book by Jenny Colgan who has a knack of telling a tale in a gentle, calm and amusing way. The Edinburgh bookshop is under threat and Carmen works to save it, grant her elderly employer his dream while balancing life with her sister and children, a ‘manny’ and a fabulous boyfriend. This is one of my favourite Jenny Colgan books which I’m sure is an excellent read, but is brought to life with the narration of Eilidh Beaton as always.

A worthy sequel
I loved this book, it's memorable, uplifting and where will it all end? I loved the first one and having bought this as soon as it came out, at first I thought this would disappoint and then it opened up into unfathomable depths. Great to visit old friends and see them lift out of despair. Carmen is probably one of my favourite Jenny Colgan characters and the narration is spot on.

Loved it !!!
This definitely lived up to the first book and I really hope it’s a series !!! Last year I found the first and loved it so was super excited to see another just before Christmas ♥️ Comfort in the familiar characters but nothing was repeated or ever got repetitive. Loved the narrators voice and they really brought the characters to life ✨ Loved this book and the first one so much 🥰
